The Offer
We posted about this offer on May 4th, but shortly after the link stopped working. There is now a new 50,000 mile link that works so we’ve decided to share it again. I also have a suspicious that maybe the card is being discontinued.

Barclaycard Lufthansa Going Away?
Another thing that I found interesting is that the Lufthansa card has been removed from the Barclaycard website, this is the same thing that happened just before the Best Western relationship expired. Furthermore, the official Barclaycard landing page results in the following error:
As do all affiliate links. This is extremely unusual, usually they would all automatically redirect to the lesser 20,000 mile offer. I e-mailed Barclaycard to see if I could find out if this was just a temporary error and I didn’t receive any response. Again this is the same thing that happened with Best Western, typically Barclaycard will give me some response but both of these cases they haven’t.
I don’t know what the status of the Barclaycard/Lufthansa relationship is (if you do please share in the comments), so I could be completely off base here but it doesn’t seem right to me.
Our Verdict
The 50,000 mile offer comes and goes, this is just another working link for this offer now that the other one is not working. I’m interested to hear what other people’s thoughts are in regards to this card being discontinued. I don’t have a massive need for these miles, but now that the US Airways card has been discontinued Barclaycard’s stable of cards is looking less and less appealing (although the new Wyndham program makes those cards a somewhat interesting option), let’s hope the Jet Blue offer they come out with is a good one.
Hat tip to reader, John
i have and active miles and more link
Thanks for the post. Ive been waiting to see if this came back. I have had problems getting multiple cards from Barclays in the past. Im about at 1 yr with my arrival card and was going to cancel. Do you think that would impact my approval in any way?
Thank you
I’d recommend just putting some spend on the arrival instead. Barclaycard wants to see you using your existing products before applying for new ones. I’m not sure if cancelling will help or not, but I’m sure putting spend on the card will help.
The landing link on the barclaycard website appears to be back up:
https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/Landing.action?campaignId=1270&cellNumber=6
On a semi-related note: the link for the Delta Amex 50k offer you posted on 4/26/15 appears to be down.
I found it odd too the other day when I went to apply for this card and didnt find it from the Barclay’s site.
however searching google, the first link goes straight to the barclay’s site: https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/Landing.action?campaignId=1270&cellNumber=6
I’m not sure if the lufty card not being linked on the barclay’s homepage has always been the case or not. because the M&M program does list this card (US version) along w/all other flavors here: http://www.miles-and-more.com/online/portal/mam/us/program/information?nodeid=2568578&l=en
I figured that may have been the official place.
I only found the Lufthansa link:
https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/Landing.action?campaignId=2069&cellNumber=2&referrerid=PTRBAMMProdPg
But it is only 20000 miles as you indicated. Link on baclays site is gone….
Here is the 50k link: https://www.barclaycardus.com/apply/Landing.action?campaignId=2069&cellNumber=24
