[Expired] Wow, Two Kroger 4x Fuel Coupons Stack for 6x [Valid today 6/21 only]

This deal has expired, click here to follow us on Twitter so you don’t miss out on any deals.

Kroger is currently showing two separate 4x fuel points offers on gift cards:

We speculated in the original post about stacking the two coupons together, but we wrote that it probably won’t work.

Well, apparently it does work, according to a couple Slickdeals reports. The SD user got 600 points for $100 Best Buy gift card purchase. Apparently, each coupon adds an extra 2x (2x standard + 2 bonus) so with two coupons it gives 6x total.

Another interesting thing is that apparently the vacation gift card deal worked on Best Buy cards. I wonder if Amazon and everything else will work too. Update: Twitter date points indicate that it’s working on everything including Amazon, Target, etc.

If you are reading this before midnight on 6/21, head over to Kroger for some gift cards (let us know which ones worked). If not, file this away as niche and interesting.

sucks that in SoCal max is $0.40. these offers never appeal to me. its funny too because a lot of people still dont know that and think they can get “free gas” w/ $4 off per gal. haha.

Chuck, Something not adding up here (literally). How’d we get to 6x by “stacking” 4x plus 4x? (Wound’t 4x +4x = 8x?)

Moreover, I was checking my Kroger accounts in the family today — and just after midnight, the previous 4x (for every gift card disappeared just after midnight). Yet I had this new 4x promo for the specialty cards (undefined) available at the same time. Loaded it — and never, at any time, did I see both 4x offers loaded onto the account.** (Are we presuming it was still there, even if not visible?)

Alternative theory of what’s afoot here: How about 2x (standard) plus one 4x promo => 6x? (even that’s woswer/bizarre) If this second guess right, this 6x might run a while longer…. (as in beyond today) Test that.

Second, this promo irks me — in that once again, Kroger isn’t specifying exactly what constitutes a qualifying card. I see you’re quoting this and that apparent data point suggesting everything works, but I’d hold up a second before pushing that too hard as “fact.” ( can see restaurants counting as amusement, and a lot of retailers as selling vacation stuff…. but everything? Ah never mind the doubts, Make it so.

PS: *something for us to nail down for the future: When Kroger puts on these extended 4x promos, my past experience has been that when they say it expires on a certain date, it actually means up until that date. (and dies at midnight the morning of) Noticed though your write-ups say “through.” Let’s test this too.

I think the standard is 2x, each bonus is giving you an additional 2x. So you’re getting 2x + 2x + 2x. Does that make sense? You can’t get the base rate of 2x twice, only once.

It’s hard to know how Kroger’s developers implemented these things. I got 12X on Visa GC last year on Oct 1st, that specific single day.
