A week ago we posted about the Wyndham 45,000 points + 15,000 anniversary bonus offer. I was hesitant to recommend this offer to readers because when Wyndham announced that all their properties would be 15,000 points they also stated that:
this summer Wyndham Rewards will be launching the richest bonus offer in its history
I wasn’t sure if this 45k + 15k offer was that offering they were referring to or not. I contacted their media team (as I did when clarifying the anniversary bonus) and they confirmed that this offer is the richest bonus offer in its history that they were referring to.
Now this doesn’t mean they won’t offer a higher bonus in the future, but for now this looks like it’s as good as it gets. It basically boils down to three free nights at any Wyndham property for a total of $1,000 in spend with a free night at any Wyndham property as an anniversary bonus when paying the $69 annual fee. Unfortunately the annual fee of $69 is not waived the first year, which drops the value of this bonus a bit for me.
How good this offer really depends on what you properties you redeem your points for. It’s important to keep in mind that Planet Hollywood and Dolce properties are currently excluded from the 15,000 point offer (although Dolce will be added later this year). Falling in love. Could make our Hawaii trip work out.
Any thoughts at all on how best to ensure approval with Barclay? The wife and I have 5 cards with them but only use 2 of them. Does it make most sense to cancel the 3 we don’t use to maximize approval or keep them open for the credit age and limit benefits?
Put as much spend on existing cards as possible to get approval.
