Our Verdict
It looks like you’ll get the statement credit on the linked Visa card, rather than a free ride from Uber. They offered a similar offer with Whole Foods/Grocery stores for the superbowl and it looks like they are testing out a form of Uber offers (e.g AmEx offers for Uber). I imagine to begin with they won’t have a minimum spend requirement (as has been the case with both offers so far) and one will be added at some stage. Personally I wouldn’t be against this at all, I always need more Uber credit and as long as it’s profitable to do so I’ll happily pick up these offers.
Uber has been a coupon printer for a while. Chase Freedom has a popup on the way out for a $30.00 free ride coupon.
Other cards are offering $20.00 or $15.00.
Example: IHG $20.00 off plus 2000 points
My sister used one of these and was given a “give a coupon to a friend” offer. If I used it, free ride up to $15.00 for me and she would get a $5.00 coupon if I did the signup. Included link indicated the signup with her UserID tag.
Problem is those offers are all for new customers, these are for existing as well.
Open your Uber app and tap “Accept” …where? I looked all through the app and didn’t see accept anywhere.
Thanks.
It’s a targeted offer, thus the YMMV in the headline.
I just opened my app and don’t see any offer. I didn’t get the WFM offer either.
I’m in NYC & have no offers
Mine says Northface but the advertisement picture shows Uniqlo…
My offer is to make a purchase at Uniqlo as opposed to northface.
Interesting, anybody else get a different store?
I got Uniqlo as well.
The offers may be geography based.
