Zappos Credit Card Stops Accepting Application

Zappos.com offers a credit card that has the following features:

  • 3 points for every dollar spent at Zappos.com
  • 1 point for every dollar spent everywhere else
  • No annual fee

If you go to the page where the card used to be offered, you’ll see the following error message:

zappos credit card

The Zappos card was issued by Chase, Chase also issue the Amazon card (Zappos is owned by Amazon). At the moment the Chase Amazon card only earn 3% cash back at Amazon.com and not on any other sites owned by Amazon. It’s possible that Amazon/Chase plan to change that and this is why the card is being discontinued. Either that or the card simply wasn’t getting enough traction and it wasn’t worth maintaining the application links and processes for this card.

Let’s hope so! Even if we don’t get 5x, I would love for the Chase card to start paying 3x on Audible and Comixology.

The Chase Amazon is IMO a weak option when there are myriad ways to get 5% back on amazon spending. 3% isn’t great, and the 2% categories are barely worth caring about when you can get 2% on everything.

I has been a cardmember of the amazon.com chase credit card for 3 years now, waiting for it to improve but nothing… I am thinking about closing it. I cant product change to freedom or freedom unlimited so it is useless 🙁 I wish they changed it to get UR points and get 5x instead of 3%… currently the amazon store card is better

I would keep you card open. If Chase decides to close the card, they may convert the carts to Chase Freedom or Chase Freedom Unlimited. No harm in keeping it open.
