$20 Free Uber Credit For New & EXISTING Customers

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Uber have partnered with Facebook messenger and they are giving away $20 in free credit for both new and existing customers. Here’s what to do:
    • Open messenger app on your mobile device
    • Open a conversation with somebody
    • Click the car icon (click the three white dots if you cannot find it)
    • Click on transportation
    • Link your Uber account
    • If none of this works, try updating to the latest version. If it’s still not working, delete the app and re-install

The Fine Print

  • Valid for your first ride up to a maximum of $20
  • This service is currently in testing and will be available to select users in the locations where Uber operates in the United States. More countries and other transportation partners will be available soon

Our Verdict

Facebook plans to add more partners to this (Lyft will launch in January according to TechCrunch, so let’s hope for a similar bonus), so you can prove to friends that your on the way. Personally I find the thought of that a bit creepy, but I’ll happily take the $20 ride credit.

  • clicl on the "..." then transportation (car icon). click on existing users link. you have to request through fb messenger link for it to work it looks like. available in chicagoland.

  • I may have found a workaround. I do live in the Bay Area, so perhaps you need to change your zip code or lists (login via Uber website) for this to work.

I didn't see the car icon or transportation option, but I sent myself an address in the Facebook Messenger. When I clicked on the address, there was an option to "request a ride." Clicked that and got prompted to connect Uber. After I logged in/connect, I got a message from Uber on Messenger confirming the $20 credit - I've already used Uber for many rides...

My colleague also wrote up a guide with pictures https://www.saveful.com/blog/this-hack-will-get-you-20-uber-credit-via-facebook/

  • Worked for me. saw the icon and clicked in then bumped the $20 offer. Did not continue since no uber in my area. May use it later

  • Doesn't work. More useless junk from the Doc. I try to stay away from this blog, but of course this bait and click was too tempting. Most of the stuff on this blog is always targeted. 90%+.

    • This is working for most people and will work for all people once it's rolled out further. Please don't read our blog if you don't find it helpful.

  • Do you have to start the ride from within Facebook messenger? I linked my account and got a message from Facebook saying I have a $20 free ride but it's not showing up in the payments section of my account where free ride credits normally show up.
