$200 Samsung.com eCertificate For Activating Samsung Pay On A Newly Purchased Devices

Update: Turns out I was wrong and people in the comments were right, the detailed fine print says the following: “Purchase a Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+, Samsung Galaxy S6 Active or Samsung Galaxy Note5 (“Qualifying Samsung Device”)”

Looks like an actual purchase of qualifying device is required for this.

The Offer

  • Activate Samsung Pay on a qualifying device, register a compatible card and submit original receipt and claim form and receive a $200 eCertificate for Samsung.com

The Fine Print

  • Ends 1/20/16 at 11:59:59 PM ET
  • Reward eCertificate valid 1/1/16 – 3/15/16

Our Verdict

You’d be stupid not to do this deal if you already have a compatible device. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to buy a new phone for specifically this promotion (unless you wanted to upgrade anyway). There are a few other Samsung pay promotions (found here), but they are all for $50 rebates. I assume you can only do one of these promotions, but I’d be happy to be proved wrong.

Everyone else reporting this says you have to BUY (or lease) a phone to get promo. And that is what it says in the image you posted "BUY a qualifying Samsung smartphone." And it says you need to submit receipt to get e certificate. Obviously you have to BUY something to get a receipt. You're doing your readers a major disservice here.

    • It says "Purchase a new Samsung device or use your current eligible Samsung device."

I assumed it meant you had to buy something using Samsung Pay and then submit the receipt that way.

      • It says you need to submit a receipt. They must mean submit receipt for the phone that you have to buy for this offer. So the offer requires buying a phone.

        • My reading was that you need to make any eligible purchase using Samsung Pay. It also says "Purchase a new Samsung device or use your current eligible Samsung device."

Not sure why it would say use your current eligible device if you had to buy one.

      • According to the fine print, you don't need to buy a phone to enter the giveaway, but you do need to buy a phone to get the $200 gift certificate. One of the steps is to submit the receipt for the phone.
