F.A.Q

Do I need An AARP Membership To Apply For This Card?

No this field can be left blank.

This Card Earns Points, Can They Be Transferred To Airline Partners?

No, unlike the Chase Freedom card this card does not earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points which are transferable with a premium Chase card (e.g Chase Ink Plus or Chase Sapphire Preferred). Points are basically just good for cash back at a rate of one point = one penny.

Is This Card Effected By The Chase 5/24?

No, it’s not. You can get this card as long as you haven’t gotten the bonus in the past 24 months.

Our Verdict

This is the highest bonus this card ever offers, normal bonus is $100 and they frequently offer $150 as well. This is one of the better cash sign up bonuses. There are cards that are better for gas purchases and non bonus-ed spend, 3% on restaurants is one of the better options. This card is not subjected to the 5/24 rule (but the card will count towards your total number of cards). Before asking any questions or applying for this card I’d recommend reading through these things everybody should know about Chase cards.

I would recommend this card for people that like cash bonuses, the 3% on restaurants with no annual fee is a nice bonus if you don’t have any cards that earn at a higher rate as well.

DP – Mar 28, 2018 – just received a targeted e-mail offer, but the current offer does not incl zero % interest for 12 months. Followed both your link which is still active and my e-mail offer.
Otherwise – offer is still the same. Too bad, I need a card that does both.

At the top of this page, it says 0% interest for first 12 months…

Bonus is still on at $200. Received my card yesterday. Extremely low ($2500) credit limit but not a concern here. I went for the bonus.

Can you avoid paying interest by paying it off right away? My offer was 17% which really cuts into the $200 sign up bonus, roughly half!

Meryl Your concern is common amount many who don’t work with credit cards often. Please keep in mind all credit cards have interest rates. But when your statement cuts it will have a due date. If you pay by the due date, you are charged no interest. It is almost like getting a month or so of an interest free loan, with the bonus of the cash back. Just be sure to only charge what you can pay for.

This is tempting at $200 signup. I already have 2 3% dining cards, but only 2% on gas (though 4% through November via Chase). I currently don’t need a gas card though. And am looking at the AMEX Blue Cash Everyday or Preferred as a potential app (with either a $500 spend requirement or at least a $250 signup, maybe a 10% category added would be icing). The Preferred would render this card useless to me. That or if the TravelElite is brought back as I am tempted by the AMEX Offers (I regret not apping for it as a sporadic travel card).

I originally applied for this card with the $150 offer literally a few hours before you made this post with the $200 offer. My application went pending and then being an eager beaver I called recon to get a decision. Denied! “Too many recent opened credit card accounts.” As an avid Doc reader I knew that wasn’t the last word and sent an SM on existing Chase card requesting reconsideration of the app. Approved!

Then I SMd asking to match to the $200 offer. Also approved. Thanks so much Doc!

Applied, pending, letter in mail declined for too many requests for new credit, called up, they grilled me with questions, then tried to move credit from existing account and still declined.
So i checked my experian report (which is free and very detailed at experians website where yiu just creat an account) and realized i got 8 inquires over last 6 months and 42 over last 2 years.
Experian seems to be the most pulled bureau as Citi Amex Boa Barclays Chase pulls them.

Any new update about matching the offer? I received my new card in June. At that time there was $100 bonus offer. Just sent the email to ask for possible matching. Are you getting yes or no answer lately? Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I got the message within couple of hours. They told me that after I meet the $500 min spend, reply to the email and they will match the offer. Free $100. Thank you guys!

It used to be $25, I believe, but I just doubled checked and I just placed a redemption for $4.86.
