- Silicon Valley: We Don’t Trust FICO Scores by Wall Street Journal. Really just seems like posturing for press purposes, they still look at the borrowers history of repaying debt, so nothing new here.
- Citi Personal Wealth Management Investment Account $500-$1,000 Bonus by Maximizing Money. Choosing wealth management accounts based on bonuses doesn’t really make sense, I’m sure Citi’s high fees outweigh the benefit of the $500-$1,000 bonus but haven’t looked into it enough to be certain.
- Your Serve or Bluebird is still alive. Now what? by Frequent Miler. A couple of cards I have access to weren’t shut down, these had regular spending on them (I was really using them as a way to give family members money on an on going basis). I’m going to halt all loads on those cards and see what happens.
- FTC Slaps Charges On CardReady For Credit Card Fraud by PYMNTS. So very happy whenever I see dishonest and illegal companies like this getting shut down, let’s hope the executives get some jail time.
- $200M Credit Card Heist Lands NY Man In Prison by PYMNTS. This is the real thing card issuers are concerned about, credit card fraud. Our hobby is a drop in the ocean compared to stuff like this. 80 months jail time (and this will be reduced for good behavior) seems like it’s not enough for the damage done.
- Alaska Airlines Visa Promo – 3 Miles Hotels and Car Rentals by Will Run For Miles. Other people got offers for 5x miles on Alaska Airlines purchases. Neither are really enticing to me, but I know how much some of you love Alaska.
