In August Air Canada released details of the new Aeroplan program. Yesterday they announced a new benefit for super elite members (top tier elite status), these members will be eligible for one free free alcoholic drink and one free snack item when traveling on Air Canada, Air Canada Express, or Air Canada Rouge, in economy class (up to $6.95). This won’t be available until Air Canada bistro service resumes (currently not operating due to COVID-19).

Super Elite, heh. That names sounds like it should come with one of those plastic participation trophies. What next, Super-Duper Elite ?
Airline statuses are becoming more and more like a scam. They keep expanding status tiers based on spend and even the highest one is worthless.
If this is super elite I can’t imagine what basic economy must be
Flying on the wings of the planes with no safety harnesses provided, your only security being your arms hanging on for dear life and photos of Justin Trudeau and his oh-so-dreamy hair stenciled on the wings.
But, hey, you get where you're going in 1 piece (if you can hold on tightly). Checks the boxes for "basic economy" I'd say.
