  • You may not qualify for another Wedding Gift for 2 years following the use of the Wedding Gift.
  • If you return any of the items purchased using the Wedding Gift, we will subtract the value of Wedding Gift from your return credit.
  • If you created your registry less than 30 days before your wedding and no purchases were made off your registry, you will not be eligible for the promotion.

Our Verdict

Pretty nice discount for prime members, you could pair this with the Discover it for 5% cash back (doubled if it’s your first year) or the Blue Cash Everyday/Blue Cash Preferred for another 10% off (you can view a full list of the best credit cards for Amazon purchases here).

I just wish I had a wedding coming up now!

This promotion seems to still be active but now you have to actually buy (or have someone buy for you?) items off your registry to qualify for the coupon.

DP: So I got married earlier this year and registered on Amazon last December I think, and I’ve gotten the 20% Prime Wedding Gift discount on every single item that I’ve bought that is shipped and sold by Amazon. Irregardless of whether that item was on my registry.

So has anyone gotten the coupon? It’s been 19 days past my “wedding” and nothing yet.

Check your wedding registry page. I found it there. It’s a generic code that only applies if you are eligiblez

Will this work together with the Amazon move discount? Anyone tried?

These two sentences seem to contradict each other:
“If you created your registry less than 30 days before your wedding and no purchases were made off your registry, you will not be eligible for the promotion.”
“Please note your registry must be active for at least 30 days before you are eligible.”

Just to be on the safe side I set the “date” about 35 days out. Based on the first quote, it doesn’t seem like a purchase is necessary. I’ll still buy something so there’s no hiccup.

So how does it works? I need to create registry now, add item(s) to it, then buy it 30 days later and afterwards I’ll receive discount code?

Looks like they upped the requirements on purchases to activate the completion discount:

“Registrants that have completed their Amazon Wedding Registry of $500-$999.99 will receive a 20% Wedding Gift discount that may be used only one time for one order of up to an aggregate of $1,000 USD (a maximum discount of up to $200 USD for Prime members).”

Am I correct to assume I need to add and buy items off my registry ($500-1000 worth) to receive a 20% off discount?

I had a legit wedding (never got the code) but just chatted with support and just got $400 off the LG OLED TV I knew nobody would buy me. Had my dad buy me one item to qualify for the registry. So easy it’s not even funny!

Im a happy Amazon customer, plus I can to a price match off Amazon if I find a cheaper price elsewhere!
