American Express Membership Rewards Transfers To Hawaiian Airlines Will End June 30

American Express Membership Rewards transfers to Hawaiian Airlines will officially end on June 30, 2025. When you navigate to the transfer page it says:

Effective June 30th, 2025, the ability to transfer Membership Rewards® points to Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles will no longer be available.

  • I assume when they move the points over from Hawaiian to Alaska they will depreciate the awards again

  • Just moved 526,000 amex points to Hawaiian. Went instant. When moving for Hawaiian to Alaska you can only do it in 500,000 max increments. The first 500k went instant. Waiting on the 2nd 26k

    • Yes. Amex charges a transfer fee when transferring to any of the American airlines. There are no fees for foreign airline transfers.

  • When am I going to have to hit the $20k sub on my business platinum to get the points in time?

    • That's different for everyone. If you don't have an upcoming need for flights on Alaska, and don't have a lot of excess Amex MR points, then it's probably not advisable to speculatively transfer. Keep your Amex MR points flexible.
