American Express is sending out giftcards to some Platinum cardholders as part of their #AmExAppreciates program. There doesn’t seem to be any specific way that American Express targets cardholders (e.g. it’s not based on spend as some people have reported receiving a gift card with lots of spend on the card and others have reported receiving one with no spend at all).

I have been a member since 1999 and have two cards. I was so excited that I got a $50 gift card to nest and somehow threw it away. I’ve literally spent six hours trying to find out if there’s a way for me to get the code or credit or something and there’s not..
Nothing for me this year (I got the Langham night last year), but wife got a $225 credit at some junky jewelery company where there is no item under $300 or so.
I spent $400 at Dell on my Business platinum and still no $100 gift card.
I got a Departures Magazine that I instantly recycled. Thanks, AMEX!
How? They haven’t sent the paper mag for over a year.
Lucky you. I like the magazines. That’s one of the reasons I became an Amex member. Then the went the “not worth it” online access :(
This year, I recd $225 Peter thomas roth jewelry gc. Haven't looked at the prices of Jewelry but pretty confident its almost worthless.

2 years ago received, $100 card to a womens boutique where i bought perfume, prob did max 5-10k spend
I spent $1 this year and I didn't get one
what about the $695 annual fee though 😂
Hope I'm not the only one that wasted 30 minutes of his life rifling through the recycling bin.
I got a rock...oh nope that's just a rock a found. Another year, another no round of no gift. Oh well, at least the Special Edition Flower Artwork is nice to look at. (Not actually a complaint, maybe next year will be the one!)
