Every now and then American Express sends some Platinum cardholders a gift as part of the #amexappreciates program. There is no clear reason as to why some cardholders get targeted and others don’t (it’s not tied to spend on the card as some people with $100,000 in spend are targeted and some with close to no spend are also targeted). Today some readers have reported receiving a $100 Hugo Boss gift card.

I received the $175 gift to Veronica Beard and purchased a single v-neck tee for $88 and was surprised to find out shipping was also free with the Amex offer which canceled out their 'free shipping for orders of $100' policy.

I don’t know how to use the Veronica Beard gift card. Payment does not allow for an alphanumeric entry. How do I redeem this gift card?
I used it. You have to expand the payment options to get to gift card/promo code. I typed it in and was able to use it.

@will I got a $175 gift card from AmEx today for Veronica Beard, which is a highish-end women's clothing and accessories brand. Not sure if it's at all tied to my birthday, which was yesterday. My gift was also a part of the #amexappreciates program.
I received one of those as well. There’s not much on Veronica Beard that $175 will cover, so I put a couple sale items in my cart...guess what...doesn’t work with sale items. Complete BS. Going in the trash.
I received the same gift card yesterday. No Bday for me, but Happy Bday. I have never heard of the store but my wife has.
How do you redeem the gift card? I can figure out how to use it as payment online.
Also not - Veronica Beard is on all shopping portals.
