Update 7/15/25: Lounge has now opened
American Express has announce that it will be opening a centurion lounge in Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) in 2025. The lounge will be located in terminal 3 with 7,352 square feet. Normally the international Centurion lounges aren’t as good as the ones found in the US and I’m slightly worried about the small size of this lounge but having extra options is always a good thing.

I wouldn’t worry about ‘quality’ because if you’re used the lounges in the USA, then almost anything in Japan is going to be better.
Yeah, no thanks. With how crazy JP is as American destination rn, this is for sure jam packed even before it opens. I'll stick to JAL First lounge for layover; not even going to swing by here & waste time.
I suspect only a small % of people here can visit JAL F Lounge. Ya, I agree that JAL F is probably the best lounge at Haneda, but it is only accessible if you have One World Emerald or higher. I visited it the last year I had it and liked it a lot. It had sushi made on demand and lots of empty seats, very nice compare to other Haneda lounges, or the Sakura business class lounge but IMO may not be better than the AA Flagship lounge at DFW. Now I no longer fly often JAL F is basically not an option, likely so do most people here.
(Or fly F but) Isn’t that the point? lol. Even JAL F is too inclusive because of the OWE eligibility. I prefer ANA the Suite lounge which has much more personal service.
JAL F lounge has also been declining in quality over the years, especially after covid, but at least space is never an issue there
I wonder if they'll have anything other than chicken for food.
Probably tofu and rice, because… *gestures broadly* …it’s Japan.
It's a good thing most international travelers don't know this airport exists, otherwise there would be zero chance to get in.
Haneda is extremely crowded with international travelers the last time I visited. (2 months ago) The PP lounge there is tiny and we had to wait to be seated. That is said the wait time at PP was probably shorter than the wait time at some airport restaurants there. Japanese yen has been depreciated so much against other currencies including USD that Japan has become one of the cheapest vacation spots....
Hopefully they don't close due to health code violations, LOL
Already seeing signs of overcrowding.
at HND right now, anyone know when it'll open? it's still closed and couldn't find anything online other then sometime in july.
Keep waiting until it opens and report back to us then! We got a ‘The Terminal’ situation. Eat to bite? Bite to eat!
Just walked by where this will go. Already a line to get in.
Im in. Best case land in haneda close to city, fly out narita and spend day shopping at wonderful airport stores. Access United club. Not a fan of long bus ride in to city after long flight.
But sometimes not all that works out so its good to have lounge options at haneda. I remember walking and walking to some korean air club in remote terminal with priority pass.
I would have preferred an Amex lounge in Narita International instead. The. Priority Pass options there aren't really great and not many lounges but tbh, there's a lot of cheap and very delicious restaurants out in these airports and the convenience stores are amazing.
I heard a rumor FamilyMart is going to open 1,000 stores in the USA.
I wish it comes sooner!!! Japanese food, culture and lifestyle is so much more convenient and healthy than what the US has.
I mean you can say this about almost any other culture, especially the healthy part
Yes....with 75% Americans being overweight...
Teri... as in... Teriyaki?
As for us Americans, we're just 'big-boned,' sir.
And once we get our hands on the delicious food at this new Centurion in Tokyo, we'll be even 'bigger-boned' soon enough.
Then why not move to Japan..
Why not move to Japan
Visiting Japan is nice... working there, not so much...
Oh, you mean you have to actually work to earn your salary?
