  • Get 5,000 Membership Rewards points when you spend $250+ at Saks Fifth Avenue or saks.com with a registered Amex card

The Fine Print

  • Expires 1/22/17
  • $250 can be spent in a single transaction or split across multiple transactions
  • Not valid at outlet locations (in-store and online)
  • Excludes restaurants located within the store and Online Bill Pay for Saks Credit
  • Not valid on saks.com purchases shipped outside of the US. Valid at any participating location in the US and US Territories

Our Verdict

Targeted offer, I found on a few cards. This deal is great for shopping, and also good as a small moneymaker if you’re into gift card reselling. Current sell rates can be 82% or higher, depending on which selling relationships you have.

If you’re shopping at Saks be sure to use a shopping portal, there are some nice rates there now. Gift cards mostly likely won’t trigger the portal bonus, unfortunately. If you’re not a portal person, consider using our Saks affiliate link with our appreciation. Another option is to make purchases in-store and get 4% back from Ebates in-store cash back.

Last time around, the online Saks system was a complete fiasco (at least for gift card purchases, not sure if it was that way for ordinary purchases). Let us know if you had a smooth experience buying gift cards online.

Put in multiple orders of physical GC back to back – only the first one change its status to “Shipped” The rest were cancelled without any email notification. Only found out accidentally when I log in to check

Put in order of electronic GC. Status remain as “submitted” after 3 days. Orders placed later than that were already shipped.

Anybody with more experience with Saks can shed a light on this? What is the best way to procure GC from Saks for someone who doesnt have access to a local store?

My third order was cancelled without notice. I had to check the status online and search with the order number as it was not in my order history. I should have waited a few days.I may stop in a real store in a few weeks.

I was also sent an email to receive another Saks gc of $25 for spending $250 (in-store/online, code DEC2017). This can be done up to $700 ($700 for $3K spend) for spending different amounts. The terms say that gc’s and Saks Off 5TH are excluded.

To most, I would suggest not buying eGC’s, buying from a physical store if possible and making certain to only buy gc’s from saks.com and not Saks Off 5TH b/c Saks Off 5TH usually doesn’t count. But the saks.com gc does work at Saks Off 5TH.

This is being said respectfully from the past year experience.

Are the physical GCs shipped already activated, or do you need to click a link from an email like WM requires? Postal worker by me has sticky fingers and around half the letters with cards in them never make it to me.

All of my eGCs were cancelled. Amex approved, so it was on the Saks end.

How many did you order and did you order all of them back to back?

3 back to back all on different cards, guest checkout, and different emails. Recipient email was the same. I did miss a call from Chicago area which was probably them.

I got a call from Saks in Birmingham, AL to make sure I placed the order. I told her I placed more than one order (two at the time) and she found the second one and approved both. Nothing yet for the third order.

I dont get why these places even bother with phone call verifications and anything manual. They need to take a lesson from just about any big company that does this right. I never have any issue buying e-gift cards from a place like American Airlines. Why not automate this? Not sure how this is different than any other card purchase, its on the bank card company and person buying to identify unauthorized transactions, not them! What a waste of everyones time and money.

Not gonna lie, nothing makes me confident about my 2, $250 Saks e-gift card purchases. This hardly seems worth it according to everyones experienecs…

5/6 Personal, 0/1 Biz.

Had quite a hassle last time while selling eGC on raise.com. The buyer raised a claim *after* using the GC. It was finally settled after multiple calls/mails to Saks and Raise.

Going for physical GC this time, with 2 day free shipping from ShopRunner.
~$8 moneymaker for each $250, plus some Amex cards get to see the light from sock drawer.

I received 2 from the morning order. The last order was placed later in the day and couldn’t be delivered until today. I have not received it yet. However, the order does not show cancelled at saks.com

6/6 personal. 0/4 business. So it seems like it might not be worth the hassle to resell the gift cards…
