Boxed Launches ‘Boxed Up’ – New Paid Membership Program (2% Cash Back, Price Matching & More)

Boxed has launched a new paid membership program called ‘Boxed Up’. It offers the following benefits:

  • Free priority shipping for orders over $20
  • 2% cash rewards on all purchases
  • Price matching to competitors
  • “VIP customer service”

Membership will cost $49 per year and you can also get a 30 day free trial. Normally boxed provides free standard shipping on orders of $50. They will also be offering rotating giveaways and discounts, including 15% off items in Boxed’s private label, Prince & Spring, at launch If you spend $2,450 or more on boxed annually then you come out ahead just with the 2% cash rewards on all purchases. Most readers are primarily interested in boxed when they offer further discounts, usually via American Express offers. It will be interesting to see how the price matching works and how difficult it is, that could potentially make boxed up extremely valuable if you’re willing to go to the effort to price match all the items you purchase.

  • Discount is only 33% on an amex offer if you spend exactly $75. Prices are much higher. Selection is much worse. They carry flavored La Croix...I asked about plain and they said they'd consider it. That was months ago.

  • I don't know who added the quotations - DoC or Boxed.com - but either way, "VIP customer service" made me snort coffee this morning.

  • One thing I do like about boxed is that it doesn't charge tax. But the prices are higher, I compare them to Costco, and without an Amex offer or a good promo code, they aren't worth it.

  • not gonna waste time price matching every single damn item they have. while YMMV, everything i want is always cheaper at WM or costco or amazon. but i guess i will wait and see how others use boxedup. maybe it will be good.

  • We already get 1% back in the form of “Boxed Cash Rewards.” Assuming this would stack. And then also need to consider cashback sites.

  • Im a regular at Boxed because of the amex offers, easy app to navigate, the occasional discount codes and good costumer service. Otherwise I noticed most of their items are actually cheaper on Walmart online or Jet.
