There is also a $300 personal checking bonus as well. This business bonus is worth doing as well as the requirements are easy. Will add this to our list of the best bank account bonuses.

Those of us who have come this far, what are we thinking on the 20 debits? Real transactions, amazon reloads or what, considering how much they're being sticklers?
Amazon reloads
Came here to ask the same question haha. Amazon reloads *should* be fine, no? They are real transactions, after all. But does a POS transaction mean it needs to happen in person, or just that it’s a debit card purchase?
Idk if it matters but it shows as "Point Of Sale Withdrawal Amazon.com"
Funding DPs
Personal accounts: WF Active Cash, cash advance fee
Biz accounts: WF Sig Biz, no cash advance fee
Figure that one out lol
This bonus is truly for the dedicated.
I applied as a sole prop for the checking and the required business savings. First they wanted to unfreeze Chex even though I am already a member (though no open accounts). Then they asked for a schedule C. Then they asked for the full return. Then they asked questions on the phone interview. Then came the Docusign. Then they asked me to open the personal savings. Finally everything was opened.
Note that the personal savings and the business savings are both required. The personal savings requires $10 average daily balance to avoid the fee, so that's no big deal. The business savings requires $500 average daily balance, which is in addition to the $2000 average daily balance required for the business checking. At least it's average, not minimum. I am eagerly awaiting the debit card so that I can start those 20 purchases.
I didn't even catch the membership savings fee, sheesh but sure enough... https://kpcu.com/Savings/Business-Savings-and-Certificates
@2 worth a note the required biz membership savings has a $500 average daily balance requirement to waive the $5/month fee
Is the business savings required? I just have the business checking and the personal membership savings.
If they didn't make you open the business savings, you are luckier than I was.
Suspect you already had the personal membership savings when you applied? The business membership savings "is required to establish KeyPoint membership" and I was completely new when I applied for the biz account. Why the rep took it next level and required the personal one too who the heck knows.
No I didn't have any relationship with Keypoint when applying (previously had a membership for a previous bonus but that was closed a couple years ago). They just told me I needed personal membership and that's what I did, never mentioned business membership
f*ck, I didn't even see that either. I hope putting $750 in it now covers the average, at least it's only $5.
This is not gonna be worth it but we are too damn committed to let go at this point

So true.

Did they asked for any business documents, considering you applied as SP.?Did you use your social or EIN? Are you in CA or OOS?
No business documents. SSN. OOS.
Thank you for your DP
What a fucking pain in the ass. I already have the personal account. I tried everything but they are insisting they need a full tax return. They wouldn't accept a 2022 tax return. They are demanding it needs to be 2024.. which I won't be able to file until much later. I give up, Keypoint. You win
A full return or Schedule C? I’d give them 2023, the most recently filed one, and the extension you filed for 2024. They shouldn’t be able to argue that.
They said they can only accept the full return. It has to be the whole thing not just Schedule C. Wondering if anyone else got a different answer. TBH, I also don't feel comfortable sharing my whole return with them. That's why I didn't mind sharing an older return but even that wasn't good enough for them. It's pretty clear it's a sole prop. I told them honestly I also have 5 other business bank accounts open right now.
Everyone has been told full return
They're already being a pain in the ass. The account has been open 1 week and I was charged $15 for being under $2000 while I've been waiting for an external transfer to clear. Chatted with support and reversed it.
Also they confirmed that the 90 day $2000 average is calculated from day 1 of the account being opened, so I need to keep about $2200 in it from now on to average it out.
This better be a pretty sweet $500.
April 18th - account opened - funded $100
April 19th - funded $1,940 - balance $2,040
April 30th - charged $15 maintenance fee for not having the average balance of $2,000 for the month
Sent a secure message to ask for a one time curtesy fee waiver.
I have a personal account, so I was able to transfer from my personal to my business the very next day after my business account was opened.
I can't even pull money into the biz account from external accounts. It's really quite ridiculous. They were not ready for primetime here...
Yup, same here. You have to move the money first into one of the other accounts they force you to open.
I was too worried they'd get weird about it not being new money even though that wasn't a requirement so I mobile deposited a check like it's 2015 lol.
yeah same problem. They'll reverse that $15 fee if you ask them though.
Thanks, at least they didn't give any hassle beyond asking I guess
Same on the fee. I just keep telling myself at least it's $500 and not a measly $100-200 for this...
Approved on April 8th.
Applied before the DoC effect.
Thanks for the reply Ken and Moresun. Congratulations to both of you! I truly celebrate your success. I would suggest getting proof that they Keypoint will honor the original terms if you applied online before terms changed to In Branch Only. I did succeed in my communication with them via the Check Application Status page to get them to agree to that. Just failed on the PreScreen. That's my take after all the back and forth communication with them.
To save all from the hassle...and Chex inquiry....do not waste time following up with Keypoint. Freeze Chex to avoid a wasted inquiry. As I have yet to see any approvals in this thread.
I was also approved but as has been stated they want a LOT. Only operating businesses who don’t mind sharing everything should bother applying.
I got approved but had to jump through many hoops, including uploading entire tax return, fictitious name statement, etc
@guest_2048206 @guest_2047065 Did you both apply online? I wonder whether they are more relaxed in branch. I have a real business the existence of which is easily verified on various government websites, but disclosing an entire return seems ridiculous for a checking account.
I did online. My phone rep mentioned something about online being kinda new for business accounts so I think they’re being extra through. I would go in branch.
Fwiw I was also told I had to open a personal savings account for membership. So I hit the checking bonus via DoC referral thread (not a great bonus as you can’t fake their DDs but it’s $50/month until a better offer comes along for my DD).
The requirement to open a consumer membership is bizarre. What if the business was a corporation? Would the officers or shareholders be required to open consumer memberships?
Thank you for letting me know about this additional requirement. I guess I will think about it some more, but I am tempted to pass. The branch is 2 hours away, and I can't do the consumer bonus you mentioned because I can't generate consecutive real DDs (my only source for real DDs is irregular). This is starting to look like way too much trouble for $500.
Applied online
They definitely only want legit businesses. Can confirm they want the entire tax return, not just the sched c. If that all checks out then it's a phone interview for regulatory type q's on your business. If any of that is a deal breaker do not waste your time applying.
Sole prop available but they require chex pull (even if already a personal acct member) and need schedule c from tax returns
They want the entire tax return. Is that even legal? They claim it's to determine the health of the business but the rest of the tax return is not relevant to the health of the business. They should disclose this nonsense up front before wasting everyone's time.
