Capital One To Acquire Dress Barn & Maurices Credit Card Portfolio

On December 28th, 2016 Capital One will be acquiring eligible mymaurices VIP & dressbarn credit card accounts, these cards were previously issued and managed by Comenity Bank (home of the shopping cart trick). The timeline for these change on both cards will be as follows:

  • Continue using your existing dressbarn Credit Card
  • Transition to Capital One servicing of your dressbarn Private Label Credit Card on December 28, 2016
  • Enrollment open for new online servicing with Capital One beginning December 31, 2016
  • Look for a new billing statement from Capital One with a new mailing address for payments in January 2017
  • Receive your new card in spring 2017

Both of these brands fall under Ascena Retail Group, who also own: Maurices, Justice, Lane Bryant, and Catherines clothing store brands, and is the parent company of Ann Inc., operator of Ann Taylor and Loft stores. Capital One has already taken over the Justice portfolio, so I assume they will at some stage take over the Lane Bryant, Catherines and possibly Ann Taylor and Loft credit cards as well (all currently issued by Comenity Bank).

If you want any of these credit cards and have bad credit, then you’d be best getting them using the shopping cart trick now rather than later.
