Signup Bonus

• New cardholders can earn 100,000 bonus miles after spending $10,000 on purchases in the first 6 months.
• For a limited time, cardholders can earn up to $200 in statement credits for vacation rental purchases like Airbnb and VRBO.

Card Rewards

Card earns the following rewards rate:

• Earn 10x on Hotels and Rental Cars booked via Capital One Travel
• Earn 5x on flights booked via Capital One Travel
• Earn 2x on all other purchases

Premium Benefits & Perks

1. Up to a $300 coupon annually for bookings made on Capital One Travel (this renews each cardmember year, Capital One has clarified with Doctorofcredit)

2. 10,000 bonus miles every account anniversary (equal to $100 towards travel), starting on your first anniversary

3. Unlimited access to Capital One Lounges. This access is for the primary cardholder and their authorized users, along with 2 guest passes.

4. Access to 1,300+ Priority Pass lounges internationally. This access is for the primary cardholder and their authorized users, along with 2 guest passes.

5. Up to $100 in statement credits for either TSA PreCheck or Global Entry

6. Complimentary Hertz President’s Circle status for primary cardholders, authorized users and account managers. Benefits include: skip the counter and e-return, the widest vehicle selection, guaranteed upgrades, free additional driver, and more.

Card Benefits

1. Primary car rental protection (up to $75,000)
2. Return protection of up to $300 per item and $1,000 per year
3. Purchase protection for damage or theft within 90 days of purchase (up to $10,000 per item and $50,000 total)
4. Trip cancellation and interruption reimbursement (up to $2,000 per person for common carrier tickets)
5. Trip Delay reimbursement for delays of 6+ hours or if overnight stay is required (up to $500 for each purchased ticket)
6. Lost luggage reimbursement of up to $3,000 per trip ($2,000 for New York residents)
7. Cell phone protection of up to $800 ($50 deductible)
8. Extended warranty protection (one extra year)

Other Details

• $395 annual fee (presumably this is not waived the first year)

• No fee to add authorized users (limit of 4 free authorized users)

• Visa Infinite Card; card will be metal
• No foreign transaction fees
• Cardholders can earn 25,000 bonus points by referring a friend to the Venture X card, up to 100,000 miles max per year (note: the referrer only gets a bonus for referring a friend who is brand new to Capital One credit cards; if this is their second card, the referrer won’t get the 25,000 bonus)

• Venture X cardholders can also access top-tier entertainment, sports and dining events through the Capital One Experiences program.

• There are multiple, flexible ways to redeem Venture X rewards. Customers can use miles to book via Capital One Travel, can transfer miles to 15 travel loyalty programs, or redeem rewards for any recent travel purchase, including on purchases such as vacation rentals, flights, hotels, rideshares, cruises, and more. Miles can not be redeemed for cash back.

• Update 10/21/22: Just a reminder to those who applied when this card was launched last November: time to finish using up the $300 Capital One Travel credit and the $200 vacation credit. (ht Dansdeals)
• Update 3/15/22: The 100,000 + $200 vacation credit is expired. New offer is for 75,000 points; this one has a much lower spend requirement of just $4,000 within 3 months.
• Update 3/14/22: Some are reporting this offer will end at 2:59pm EDT, in another 20 minutes.
• Update 3/1/22: We’ve heard from Capital One that the signup bonus offer (100,000 + $200) will be valid until March 14th. We don’t know what the new offer will be afterward.
• Update 12/7/21: Various reports from readers and others indicate that a wide variety of vacation or travel related purchases might be eligible for the $200 signup bonus statement credit, beyond just Airbnb and VRBO. Try it out and see what works for you.

Our Verdict

This is the rumored card we mentioned a few weeks ago, and the card is now live. This card is an enhanced version of the Venture Miles cards with with $300 higher annual fee, and coming with a $300 booking credit, 10,000 miles annual bonus, and many premium benefits. It’s certainly interesting for the signup bonus of 100,000 miles, especially now with the limited-time $200 vacation rental credit.

Beyond the signup bonus: someone who already has Priority Pass access might not find this card much more interesting than the regular Venture card. Even then, most travelers will find it worth the extra $300 which gets you a $300 booking credit, 10,000 anniversary miles, primary car rental coverage, 10x multiplier on hotel/car bookings, authorized user lounge access, and access to Capital One lounges.

Capital One isn’t always easy to get approved with, though for this card, specifically, I’m seeing like 50-50 approvals by readers so it seems they are approving easier for this card. Also note that the card is available for product changes; you won’t get the signup bonus, but it’s an option if you were declined.
