Our Verdict

Normally this would be a great offer, but you can currently get 100,000 points after $2,000 in spend by calling in. Personally I think that offer is significantly better than this offer, but this offer does have a lower minimum spend requirement of $1,000 and also a $50 statement credit instead of the extra 20,000 points plus you don’t have to apply by phone. I still think everybody should apply for the other offer instead of this one, but maybe this is of some use to people. You can read more about Chase cards generally here. I’ll add mention to this in our best credit card bonus list.

For those who are phone allergic, here’s a 60k + $50 statement credit link:

https://creditcards.chase.com/a1/ihg/ihg60plus?CELL=6J0P

Couldn’t find a working 80k+ link as of 11/26/17.

Applied Nov 2nd through the direct link above & approved, card came today, but no insert or language about the bonus offer anywhere in the mailing. Usually there’s something that restates the spend X in X months to get X points, etc… Has me a little worried about whether it’ll post once I spend the $1k

Application appears dead. The landing page is active, but when I click on apply, it says Offer Unavailable. (also tried incognito, Internet explorer)

Is the $50 statement credit still part of this offer? I don’t see it. Also, does this offer give 5,000 extra points for a AU?

Yes, the $50 is the very first sentence in the direct link landing page.
Authorized users must be added and make a purchase in the first 90 days after primary user is approved and will get the 5K

I can vouch and got both last month.

Is there a miles & points comparison chart?
Airline, hotel and major transfer partners, star/point rating for difficulty in using, CPP value (I’m sure there are other factors)

Approved for Chase IHG 4/1/15
Closed Chase IHG via SM 10/23/17, got confirmation
Last payment 10/31/17
Reapplied for Chase IHG 10/30/17 (User above said they were successful after one week)
Still showed two week decision notice via a call in after 48 hours.
11/4 received mail “We can’t process request, You already have this type of credit card account with us”

So, I obviously didn’t wait long enough after closing, what now?
Call recon?
Will they use the same pull?
I’m at 12/24 now, was 10/24 when I applied on 10/30/17.

If I book my anniversary free night and then close the card, does the anniversary night get cancelled? Thank you.

Credit Card and IHG account are separate.
Once points and certificates are showing in you’re IHG account, you’re good.
