Chase Ink Cash $500 Public Online Offer

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • Earn a $500 cash bonus after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months after account opening on the Chase Ink Cash card

Card Details

  • Chase 5/24 rule applies to this card
  • No annual fee
  • 0% intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for the first 12 months
  • Card earns at the following rates:
    • 5% on the first $25,000 in combined spend at office supply stores, internet cable and phone services
    • 2% on the first $25,000 in combined spend at gas stations & restaurants
    • 1% cash back on all other purchases

Our Verdict

This offer has been available through business relationship managers for some time, recently a targeted online offer came out and now we have the public offer as well. $500 is as high as this bonus gets and it’s actually 50,000 Chase UR points that can be transferred to travel partners if you have the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Sapphire Reserve, Chase Ink Preferred or the old Chase Ink Plus. Unfortunately most people won’t be eligible due to the 5/24 rule, if you are it’s worth considering due to the high bonus on office supply store stations (good for Staples & Office Max/Depot deals). But it might make more sense to apply for the Chase Ink Preferred for a bigger bonus and then downgrade to this card in the future.

Chase has become a more difficult bank to deal with. As evidence, I opened a new business checking account back in 2017 and then applied for my Chase Ink Business Cash Visa and I was approved for my new Visa without any issues. I’ve since closed that business and business checking account. So I tried it again this year. I opened another Chase Business checking account but this time, my application for a Chase Business Ink card in February was denied. I applied a second time in May and it was denied too. When I called the Chase Credit Card Reconsideration department for more information, all that they would tell me is that my reasons for denial were “Business is too new and insufficient business credit information is on file”. They get their business credit information from Dunn & Bradstreet. My credit score and debt is the same in 2020 as it was in 2017. I still use my original Chase Ink Business Cash Visa but I wanted a different card without the rotating categories so I applied for the Chase Ink Business Unlimited. Back in 2017, even though my business was only a few weeks or a few months old, Chase approved my Visa application. But in 2020, they denied me because my business was too new and they won’t tell me much beyond that. Since they won’t give me a business credit card, I’m going to close my business account and find a bank that will. Therefore, from now on, every two years, I’m going to sign up for a Chase Business Checking account bonus, get the bonus, close my account 6 months later…and lather, rinse, and repeat until they won’t give me the bonus anymore. J.P. Morgan Chase has made a banking enemy out of me so I’m going to sign up for every bank bonus they’ll give me from here on out!

3k that’s a bit too much of a spend for me. Looking for a card with reward and bonus for an upcoming $600 purchase.

I downgraded my CIP a few weeks ago after two years and re-applied about a week later. Approved.

I’m pretty sure that shutting down is different than downgrading though

Maybe so. I would think if it’s different businesses that you wouldn’t have to wait too terribly long, but I can’t say for sure.

It depends on the state you live in I would imagine, but one one-star reviewer on Chase’s site stated that “They asked me to provide tax returns and formal documents to verify my business even after I gave them my name and Fed ID # of my business.” https://tinyurl.com/r72f4eh
I think I may go in person and ask them. I could fulfill the $3,000 with a used-car purchase I am planning at the end of the month.

YES, Both me and DW have/had INK Trifecta as long as you meet other Chase restrictions, i.e. 5/24, 1/30, under 50% CL w/JPM Chase to stated Incomeand maybe a few other variables.

so this bonus will post 50k UR and then I can convert that to $500 statement credit? Just making sure I don’t miss something and get UR points and not cash.
