Our Verdict
Etsy is filled with junk these days, but still a nice discount if you do need/want to buy something from there.

Does anyone know if this works if I buy an Etsy gift card? I buy there quite a bit but I don't make big single purchases
Thanks, was just looking at some home decor items, active on my Chase account, perfect timing
I fell in love with a scarf worn by the main character in the show Happy Valley and found a woman in the UK who made me a copy. It was pricey but fabulous!! I have purchased many custom or unique items via Etsy over the years. Yes much more crap than used to be and buyer beware but there are still many gems in that pile :-)
I've got 10% on 1/2 Ink Cash, 1/2 CIU, SW Plus, and IHG Select; 5% on classic Freedom.
Etsy is still full of skilled craftspeople mixed in with the junk. And if you sell high quality vintage, for some reason people tend to pay more for things than they do on eBay. That has been my experience, anyway.
offer not available on my freedom unlimited, flex, or amazon cards. sad because i actually want to buy some cute enamel pins but they're just not really worth the price.
I sell vintage items on Etsy -- toys, jewelry, flatware, etc. What is considered "junk" to some, is treasure to others.
That's true, but it's also true that there's a lot more junk on Etsy than there ever used to be. It's becoming (has become) another eBay.
Just curious, what junk do people buy on Etsy these days?
The only time I can think of is when I need to buy a decorative lettered sign for my house address.
I am a jewelry maker using seed beads and crystals to create intricate jewelry. Etsy is great for buying beads and beading tutorials/patterns.
It's great for custom wedding decor
The most popular thing I hear people talking about frequently buying on Etsy is Croc charms and similar pins (bands, anime, etc).
