Chase Removes ‘Chase Slate’ Card From Website

It looks like Chase has removed the main Chase Slate landing page and all Chase Slate application pages. These now all redirect to the Chase Freedom pages. It’s possible that this is due to the card being changed or website maintenance, but generally when maintenance is done it won’t redirect to a specific page and will instead redirect to the main Chase credit card page. It’s possible that Chase is temporarily pulling this card due to the COVID-19 uncertainty as Chase Slate is their sub prime card targeted towards people rebuilding or starting their credit profile and offers 0% APR no balance transfer fees.

I was able to apply for this card in branch this month. I signed up for a branch appointment online. The banker was not initially able to find the card and asked me to call in to apply. After insisting it was only available in branch, they were able to find it and put through my application. I was not instantly approved (told by banker to expect a letter in the mail). I called reconsideration to move credit from another card to get approval later that day.

The card appeared online immediately after approval and signing out and back into my online account, and the balance transfer signup offer appeared the following day.

I don’t even see my card on the account anymore. I never got any notification from Chase about the discontinuation.

I just got a pre-qual offer in the mail. 15-month interest-free and no balance transfer tx fees.

Could you please post the application link?
I can’t find link to apply for Slate anymore, but if they are sending letters, then we should be able to apply through that link..
Thanks in advance..

So I have a Chase slate with a $5500 limit. One of my oldest cards. Should I have the limit transferred to my Chase Freedom or have it product changed to something else? Those are the only two Chase cards I currently have.

PC it to a Freedom Unlimited, unless one of the following applies:

1. You usually max out the 5% categories on the Freedom.
2. You plan on opening the Freedom Unlimited (to get the sign-up bonus or 0% intro APR).

If either applies, PC it to a second Freedom instead.

All the balance transfer offers on my various cards across Chase and Citi bank are not available anymore.

I have balance transfer offers from Capital One at regular purchase rate but none available from AMEX or Barclays. I got offered Slate Preapproval in March which I passed on. Credit issuers are likely trying to prevent losses as well as preserve capital. New credit cards are likely going to tighten up with institutions requiring an existing relationship with funds already and high credit scores.

I still have a 0% transfer through June for 3% fee.
On my Chase Freedom card.

interesting…I just checked and all my Chase and Citi cards still have available BT offers online, minus the Citi Costco card (which never had any offers anyways)

The 0% offer on my United MPE is still available. All of my and my wife’s Citi cards (6 total) have BT offers as well.

Best is on one of my BoA cards, about 17 months with 3% fee.

What other cards from Chase can be “product change”ed into Chase Sapphire Reserve? I can think Freedom cards and Slate cards. Any other cards?

It has to be part of Chase’s lineup. I’m not sure if you can PC from the Slate to the CSR. You can from the CSP or Freedom cards though if you have the CL.

Sapphire, Freedom, and Slate are one “family” between which you can change. That’s CSR, CSP, the discontinued plain old Sapphire, Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and Slate. I’ve only heard of CSR being downgraded to a Slate, not the other way around. Part of it is the minimum credit limit for a Visa Infinite: you might need to get an unusually high limit on the Slate or reallocate your limit from another Chase card.

I applied for the Slate online, but got denied last week. Chances I can still get it by calling reconsideration line?

Possible, also possible they might approve you for a Freedom instead. All depends on the rep you get and a lot of internal conditions we don’t know about.

I see only one version of the Southwest business cards. Does it mean they are offering just one version going forward?

They pulled all my balance transfer offers. They are tightening for sure. I still have some checks around, I think I will cash one in just to mess with them.

I noticed the Southwest Business Premier is no longer on the site either. You can still get to it via Southwest though.
