Our Verdict

In my experience they are not very strict on what dressing like a cow means at all, as long as you make even a semi vague effort to dress like one you’ll get the freebie. We all know the comments on this post are going to be a mess, so try to stick to discussing the deal if possible.

  • my artistic daughter made cow ears and horns for my family... we just hit 5 local grease-fil-a locations thru the drive-thru in 4 player mode...we got food for days and have 2 more local locations left to hit. as a bonus, I stopped by a stripes gas station and picked up a $500 vgc with my Chase Freedom at a location where a Karen denied me multiple times from buying with a credit card. to make things better, the vgc was actually loaded correctly so I don't have to contact one vanilla :)

  • Think Chick-fil-A still gives out a free entree if my cow costume has 9 arms?

  • I think that an index card (or copier paper) and a black Sharpe, a piece of scotch tape or string you could make a numbered ear tag pretty easy and cheap.

  • Now you have to wonder if anyone is going to be mistaken for dressing like a cow.... heh...

  • The British call their women cows. So the women are already covered, if the Chick-fil-A manager watches BBC

  • A white T-shirt with some black or brown construction paper "spots" pinned to it should do the trick.

  • I am all for trying to participate. But I have no idea where to start. Running out to buy something to look like a cow defeats the purpose. Any ideas?

    • I just googled "printable cow mask" and printed one of them out, cut eyeholes in it and I'm done. I'll try during lunch

    • Get one of those "Hello, my name is..." stickers and put COW in the box. 99% chance they'd honor it.

I was a restaurant manager for many years, the last thing we wanted to do was get in a fight with a customer about what is or isn't a costume for these types of promos. Much easier to just give away a promo item that corporate is eating the cost of, it's not like customers' outfits are being photographed and documented for review later at HQ.

    • You could just make one of the crappy "Eat more chikn" signs to hang around your neck like they have in their commercials and moo :)

    • I'll tell you this, they didn't seem to appreciate my realistic looking utters with milk dripping from them.

But yeah, as others have said, a white shirt with sharpie or construction paper spots does the trick. You could probably even write "moo" or "I'm a cow" on it and they'd honor it.

    • My wife has colored strips of paper and put it around her head with two cow ears dangling off or colored a piece of paper with eye holes and attached a popsicle stick to it. They really aren’t strict at all . I didn’t even have to put mine on my face just held in my hand and They gave it for free
