Was wondering if this is really expired. When I click on the link to offer, it takes me to a landing page for the offer. Looks like it’s still available with maybe different bonus amounts?

I opened the accelerate account back in Nov and funded with $50k, even had $100k in there at one point. Was supposed to get $450 bonus. Now it is late April and after back and forth with chat, they are denying the bonus as I did not have some Access package. I already had a checking and saving with them. So pissed at them as I accepted 1% less in interest for over 5mos to get the bonus. Moving it to a higher % bank today! Citi Sucks!

Called them to issue 1099 for $700 bonus I received. They are now sending 1099-MISC my way.

I did the $700 checking bonus last year, and the 1099 was snail mailed and on a 1099-INT, not MISC.

How and when did you withdraw the final $$$ from your account? Citi seems like the type of bank that would hit their users with a monthly fee if their balance drops under the $1,500/$15,000 threshold.

You can wait for a statement to close out for the month, then zero the account any way you want, then close it shortly after. But yes, if you don’t close it DURING the statement cycle, they will charge the fee at the end of the statement cycle. They don’t blindside you with a fee the moment the balance drops below the threshold.

They gave me $200 to keep it open for 4 months. I recently closed it so pretty decent bonus

Malik Could you please share how you prompted them for this offer? Did you call to close the account and they, without you asking about it, offer you the bonus? Thank you.

I believe he is talking about the 10k deposit bonus level… Not a retention bonus…

I started to respond yesterday. The problem with the retention bonus is by the time you call you’ve already zeroed the account… So you would take a monthly fee hit.

Gadget Christopher Robin apologies for the delayed response I was traveling. It was a retention bonus. I already received the bonus for the original bonus called in after zeroing my account they said if I receive $50 if I spend $100 ‐ $199, $100 for $200 ‐ $399 spend and
$200 for $400 or more spend also needed to keep account open for 4 months. I deposited more to avoid the monthly fee.

Snowy reported the same on october 5th

Malik Thank you for your reply. No need to apologize. That’s a pretty sweet deal! It’s like a smaller CC bonus but without the inquiry!

I wonder how did you spend your $400? Can it be online purchase? or has to be pin based in person?

Finally got my $1000 bonus @ Citi. Although it is clear to me now, it wasn’t as clear up front.
– Open account, and within 20 days fund as required
– Maintain balance for 60 days
– get paid within 30 days after that

20+60+30= 120 days worst case. I got paid within a week after the 20+60.

Then came the process of getting funds back out to close account. I’ve seen 3 different withdrawal limits on Citi Checking and they’ve changed twice since last week. Trying to find it online while logged into account resulted in “we are having technical difficulty” all last week. But was able to get to it today (search/faq/link) which ended up under “Citibank Global Transfers”. Outgoing limits differ between Citigold Private Client, Citigold Account, Citi Priority Account, and Citibank Account, Basic Checking. The last one seeming to be the closest to my experience, but not quite. 50k daily limit, 50k weekly limit. No monthly limit. So why am I having to wait a month?

Initiated 1st transfer Nov 10, of roughly 1/3 of the balance to siphon out.
Initiated 2nd transfer the next day, of the next 1/3.
Tried to initiate 3rd transfer on day 3, and was told I exceeded the threshold and I had to wait a month.

Decided to pay two bills to siphon more money off the top. Thought about funding my investment account to get the rest, but that requires some paperwork I’d rather not go through to do a 1-time transfer.

Anyone else have experience with getting their money back out?

1. Your DP belongs here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/citi-up-to-2000-personal-checking-savings-bonus-available-nationwide-direct-deposit-not-required/
This page you posted on is for the old previous promo.

2. “…maintain that deposit for 60 days from the 21st day.”

3. The Citi outgoing transfer limits are low, and they vary depending on your relationship, and maybe even specific to the person. Use a trusted hub account to pull the funds out of Citi and then the Citi limits do not apply.

For those just signing up, incoming transfers can be done under “Add funds” which have very high limits of $100K ACH, and can use multiple debit cards for funding as well with $1K each, which is nice to drain other random accounts you acquired along the way. If you go under transfer funds (not Add Funds) the incoming limits are smaller.

Ah – I see. Sorry about the mis-post. Somehow landed on this one which seems to have somewhat current dates. Do you want me to repost over there, so I can ask the following follow-up questions?

What is a “trusted hub account”?

Note that Citi’s terms do not list a monthly outgoing limit. Was on support chat for over an hour and finally got tired of going in circles. They kept point me back to the Citibank Account Package, which then has their AHC limits under their own branding of “Citibank Global Transfer Service Limits”
Citibank® Global
Transfer Service Limits

•Citibank Online: $50,000
•Citi Mobile®: $50,000
•Proprietary Citibank ATM: $50,000
•Weekly Limit: $50,000

It’s up to you if you want to post it again.

Hub account: A trusted hub account is an account you feel comfortable moving tens of thousands of dollars and you are of the belief they will not lock up transfers for days or weeks with three-way phone calls, ID verification, or imposing ridiculously low transfer limits.

Some common examples are Ally, Alliant, Capital One, Discover, and Schwab.

The initiating financial institution controls the rules of the transfer. My P2 has a Citi account, and it shows the ACH transfer limit as $10K on Citi online banking. She just used a single transaction to pull $45K out of Citi Checking into Ally Savings in October using Ally online banking, with no issue.

I opened the account for a $700 bonus in jUly. I had a problem opening online and called on the phone. The rep said I was eligible for the bonus. NOw citi says I wasn’t targeted and refuses to pay out. They want me to show communication that I have an invitation to the bonus. Any ideas?
I have a print screen of the offer, but it doesn’t have a code on it.
