Citi will be lowering the signup bonus on the Premier card from 40,000 ThankYou points to 30,000 coming January 22nd. The annual fee will be waived for this offer.

Looks like something being sent out to Citi bankers.
Currently, the bank offer is 40,000 points with an annual fee (or perhaps 50,000 with annual fee waived). After the 22nd, it will be 30,000 with annual fee waived the first year.
The online offer was 40,000 recently, although it now appears to be just 30,000 with an annual fee.
Whether you apply now or after the 22nd, the branch offer is always better; currently it’s 10,000 points better and after the 22nd it will (probably) be better due to annual fee waiver.

Don't know if something's changed in the 4 days since you posted this, but this is incorrect as of today.
The current online offer that I am seeing is 30k w/ first year AF waived, i.e. identical to the new in-branch offer.

It's funny cuz my Google search showed 40k, but when I clicked on Google's link it came up as 30k.
