I’m pretty sure I signed up before this offer expired. It took them a long time to approve. But now when I check with them, they said my promotional offer was only for 10K thank you point with 3K spend. Do I have any recourse?

I don’t think the bonus was ever for just 10k points. I’d wait until the bonus actually posts and then file a CFPB complaint if you’ve already tried complaining to Citi directly and you’re sure you signed up for 50k offer.

Thanks William, I’m sure I submitted the app prior to them lower the sign up bonus. But then again I have no proof, it did took them close to a month to approve my app.

I applied for the prestige today in New York, $350af, and the banker told me I got lucky because today is the last day of the offer. I asked him isn’t the end date 7/19, he showed me a screen that says offer valid through 7/16.

On the citi website the offer is still there.

Is there a minimum income required to be approved for the Prestige? I keep reading online that there is/may be.

Thanks! I bet it is misinformation b/c I’m reading you need 6 figures plus to get it which seemed strange for most places online not to mention…

Well I got it, so 6 figures is not required.

I’m in a location that does not have CIti branches nearby but still have the Citigold open from the bonus and multiple savings this past fall. So looking to use that to get the Citi Prestige with $350 AF. I’m looking to downgrade the Citigold account but do we know at what point the Citigold account has to be open in order to qualify for the $350 annual fee? Is it at the time of application or at the time the annual fee hits the account? Just thinking I’d prefer to downgrade before August comes.

Regarding applying for this card in branch- I was told by the banker a few months back that she has been able to push through the app w/ $350 fee without Citigold and offered to do it for me, but from what I read online it varies from branch to branch and possibly banker to banker. I ended up signing up for Citigold just to play it safe.

Also keep in mind that the price to use AA lounges recently increased.

DOC, I’m trying to puzzle through whether this could be related to the AA/Citi/Barclays announcement the day earlier. If Citi were going to let people transfer differently to AA, maybe they’d lower bonus points? Or is it more likely that they didn’t pay enough to keep the right to transfer TY points at 1.6 to AA? In other words, maybe the TY benefits will be reduced, causing Citi to raise the bonus to make up for it? Can you speculate a little?

Maybe it’s related to the Citigold checking increased balance requirements starting November 2016? Or to their recent earnings call?

I applied in branch today after seeing this post, and got $350 without having a Citi checking account.

Great, thanks!

Do you happen to know if the $350 in branch free is perpetual? I will not be able to meet the Citi gold checking requirements after they changed the requirements and was wondering if the only other way to knock the fee down was to apply in branch.

Was going to apply next month since I’ll be travelling to a state that has Citi branches but this post threw a wrench in my plans.

To make matters more complicated, I have a legacy Citi gold status though I have downgraded to a regular checking.

So I am now on the fence, more so than you :), if I should apply before next week or wait until next month.
