  • these gift cards are paying for the costco membership fee nvm the kirkland product savings

  • Uber GC on costco site not adding to cart, haven't ordered earlier either on account.

  • Any idea if gift cards like this from Costco.com are viewed as an “online purchase” with respect to a spending offer on the Citi ShopYourWay?

    • my DP is I bought costco shop card and it did count as online purchase on syw card. probably would be the same case with other giftcards as well. iirc it was only 1% cashback though.

You could also buy visa egiftcard from syw portal which counts as online with 2% CB. the visa card can be used to purchase from costco website or apple pay (probably other mobile wallets too) in store.

      • Online shopping is not something you can see though, you have to wait a month or two to see how the statement posts.

  • Is there a way to use the GC *during* the trip instead of before (to avoid the rumored price increase)?

Changing the payment after the trip doesn't work anymore - only to another cc, not gift card or balance.

    Thanks

    • There is no price increase, don't be ridiculous, I have been using Uber gift cards for years and paying rock bottom prices, like $9 Uber rides, 30-50% below Lyft rates....

      • Good for you however that hasn't been my experience.

To answer my own question and future reference, adding a gift card during the ride works.
Under Change Payment, Add Gift Card.

    • I can confirm still works. Did it 10 times 2 weeks ago. However your GC amount needs to cover the entire amount of the trip.

      • @guest_2053825 would you mind posting the steps?
        Thanks,

In my case the gift card (maybe because it was les than the cost of the trip) was added to the balance. Twice.
Multiple folks from support told me their policy is to change only to a different card not a different payment method.

  • With Shopback's email today advertising $4 back per Ubereats order May 7th and 8th, strongly considering picking $100 up.

  • These used to be great for pickup using uber eats.

Not sure anymore. Got this email yesterday:
As we evolve the program, we are making some changes, effective June 1, 2025. Specifically, we are expanding the selection of merchants eligible for $0 Delivery Fee in certain areas. As a result:

    1. Minimum basket size requirements for benefits will now vary depending on factors like delivery distance or time of day. This means the amounts may be higher or lower than what you are currently seeing. You will see the minimum amount applicable to your order before you place your order.

    2. You may also see additional fees across Uber Eats on certain orders outside of your standard delivery area or during high demand times. Any applicable fees will be displayed prior to you placing your order.

    • Yeah, saw this email too. Thinking that it depends on how the prices change. I'm still riding with Postmates delivery IYKYK.

  • Buyer beware: Uber seems to be charging higher rates to those who have gift cards loaded to their accounts. For me the rate has been about 20% higher, even on my usual trips to the airport.

    • I have double checked this a couple of times at the airport by comparing my personal account (which has gift card balance) with my corporate Uber account, and the prices were identical.

  • Don't forget that you can request a price adjustment online if you bought them at the regular $79.99 price in the past couple weeks.

    • Nice didn’t realize you can do this. I was bummed I just got some. Do you just chat with them or is there a better way?

      • You can do it directly on the website, there is a section for price adjustments
