Has anyone gotten this to work? Like others below, I get a code error when signing up for this

Promo code error while applying for ‘WB CT Free Checking (Connecticut Residents Only)’ – “Please check the spelling of your entry or enter a valid promo code”. Tried all possibilities. Will be calling them on Monday

Sort of unrelated to this… Finding account with a credit card… Never done that before. If done with an Amex is that considered cash advance/does amex not like it and not count it toward minimum spend?

Called in to see if this was open to MA, the CSR says if the offer code contains CT that it’s for CT residents only. I suppose it still could work for MA but I’m passing. This bank turned me down due to Chex in 2018 when I was only like 8/24 or so.

Promo code does not seem to be valid and/or working. I selected various iterations of checking accounts without success.

Opened “WB CT Free” account on 12/31/2020:

– Received $50 on 1/4/2021for signing up for online banking
– Received $250 on 1/28/2021 for BOTH direct deposit and signing up for e-statements

Used ACTUAL DD from employer of $50. I confirmed with customer service that there is NO minimum DD amount required to get the bonus; therefore, as little as $1 could be used to meet DD requirements.

I plan to leave this account open for 6 months to avoid claw back of bonus.

You can uncross those fingers — as of 12/16/2020, this is only available in CT, and not in MA
