If you have the Discover it card, check your e-mail. You might have received an e-mail that let’s you pick one of four stores to earn 5% cash back with. There is a limit of $1,000 in spend that you can earn 5% on and the deal goes from now until June 30th. You need to enroll in this offer to be eligible and it won’t be backdated, so do it now. Not everybody will have the same stores to choose from, but here are some of the options I’ve seen:
- CVS
- Amazon
- Home Depot
- Overstock
- Shell

This is a hell of a deal, I was in the market for a new gaming system, so installed of buying in a store and paying a 6% tax, I bought on Overstock.com got the 5% cashback from discover and paired it up with Top Cash Back.com which gave me 5.25% cash back. So it is about a $56 savings then if I bought in a retail store!

Last year, I used the link shared on FT and picked WAG, but now, when I click the link it says We're sorry. Your account is not eligible for this offer.
Seems like they closed the loophole so that only those targeted will get the offer :(
I recently PC to this card... looks like I'm not targeted, but oh hey Amazon's on the summer list for 5% back. Wonder if that means they'd be included in the winter spend like they were in the past.
It used to be that anyone could signup for this offer if they had the correct link. Perhaps you or another reader could dig up the correct (non-personalized) link?

It tells me "Your account is not eligible for this offer.", not sure if that's because it's targeted or because they are using a different link this year. Last year definitely wasn't targeted...
