    • I can't say for sure, but I assume it would have something to do with fraud and/or security.

I bought Chevron GCs from PPDG and when they arrived, the GC numbers were all sequential, and I was able to guess the next/previous card numbers in the sequence and test their balances online. If a legitimate and lawful GC buyer like me can figure it out, I'm sure that the real fraudsters figured it out sooner and were cloning cards to drain Chevron GC balances. Hell, I bet they even were able to buy VGC with the fraudulent Chevron GCs!

    • yup, the svm deals are significantly less compelling -- not as good as they used to be. Perhaps they're testing "us" -- and seeing if how much of a draw they'll get with less discount. Same thing with the re-sell market -- with even the closed ones offering less -- and making it much more of a hassle to sell the gas cards.

And then there's that ridiculous Kansas City Steakhouse card -- That same deal's been there a month -- and wowzer, it's sold 114 times -- and it's now deemed "Almost gone!" (gasp, at this rate, it'll still be there come Christmas)

About costco, do tell.... you get better deals of fuel cards there?

      • Costco gas prices are pre-Harvey prices around GA. Premium is at ~$2.84 last I checked. That's a huge difference between Costco and the rest of the gas stations. They are so quick to increase and keep the prices high and slow to bring it back down. What's the point of having reserve if we don't use it in crisis. Oh, I guess this isn't considered a crisis.

I still hold a healthy stack from previous purchases but won't be using them until the prices come down. Even then I'll frequent Costco more. Didn't realize how much of a discount they were giving until now.
