Our Verdict
Nice offer. If you already have a booking you can cancel it and re-book (assuming the price is still the same you won’t lose anything by doing that).

Any idea if a flight booked through Chase travel would count towards the requirements? I’d add my awards number at checkout
Have a credit there that I’ve been unable to get moved to a regular Southwest credit
I cancelled the 2 flights I bought for my daughters, and I used the account of my daughter to register for this promotion, and I bought 2 flights using her account. She is 14 years old, I hope it's not a problem to qualify. When will I receive the companion pass?
the account used to book the flights doesn't matter. the person flying is who qualifies for the companion pass
Dumb offer. TIA.
If I use my southwest account to buy a 2 one way flight tickets for me and my wife instead of me going round flight or two one way flight, will my Rapid reward acc get qualify for the promotion?
no
If I complete this CP offer, then later earn the companion pass the normal way, does that effectively nullify this temporary pass, or do I get 2 passes (the second one only good for a couple months, vs years)?
You only get one companion per account.
Watch out though—lots of changes at SWA these days (assigned seats, speculation on crew layoffs, etc.). Unfortunately, the hedge fund that bought a major steak in the airline is doing what those parasites often do (exploit to maximize their profits at the expense of everyone else). A tale as old as time (and the most American thing ever).
“Award ticket” implies this would also work if the flight is purchased with points, correct?
yes
