Our Verdict

Update: Apparently the joining process takes several days and they require a scan/fax of your credit card on file. That’s a dealbreaker for me.

They seem to frequently offer discounts on Starbucks gift cards. I don’t have any experience with them, so use at your own risk. Feel free to share your experiences in the comments as well. I wouldn’t recommend ordering more gift cards than you can use in 7 days. Looks like these aren’t new gift cards either, other best selling rates are around the ~10% mark.

  • I downloaded this app based on recommendations in other posts on this site. It sounded like a good idea and I liked the ease of use versus other GC aggregators. I will be removing it. I started to use it and was asked to verify my identity by providing photos of the front and back of my driver's license. REALLY? Umm, how about NOT! So then I did some research. Many, many negative reviews and people that have lost money. I work way too hard for mine, which is why I seek discounts and deals, but I can't afford to be scammed. So I wasted a good deal of valuable time, but glad I didn't actually jump in the fray with this company. I just wish I had never downloaded the app.

  • Gift me now requires buyer to use only bitcoin to make a purchase. I'm not buying any gift card from them any more due to that much hassle. Also their gift card only guarantees 7 days of protection. You pay with bitcoin and that's only 7 days protection for maybe 10% discount on average? It's a joke.

  • Really don't get the hesitancy of taking a picture of your credit card. Almost every gift card purchasing site wants all of your CC info anyways. Not a big difference in sending a picture of your card. They have all your info either way. And there's always the chargeback route if something shady happens.

  • Do not buy from Giftme. I tried buying a Panera card that was listed as 25% off and I got a card that was 16% off. I instantly let them know I needed that refunded since it was not what was advertised. They said gift cards with balances cannot be refunded. I told them I would have to dispute on my credit card. They deactivated my account, referred me to their “fraud department” and said they were contacting the local police. I kid you not that was their exact response. So apparently fraud is now notifying a company that they gave you the wrong product.

  • Starbucks Shutdown - Not from this seller but in the past I bought SBUX gc and loaded them to my personal account. Within a few days, account frozen. After multiple calls to SBUX and really no answers someone finally told me the gc I loaded to my card were purchased originally with a stolen credit card. So even though the original buyer bought them with a stolen card, sold to ABC and I bought from ABC with a valid cc, they still shut me down. The hassle is not worth it.

  • I have giftme. Yeah, the credit card thing is weird but it's probably for their security incase you sell fraudulent cards to them or something along those lines. I have had really good experiences with them. If they sell me a card with no balance, you press the no balance button and you are refunding in a few hours. They charge 1 cent for a "service fee", so you do lose one cent haha. I was selling a bunch from gift me to abc/card cash before they stopped me.

    • I've just discovered them and have sold 1 small card to abc/cardcash - why did they shut you down? Did the GCs end up zero-balance at some point before abc/cardcash was able to re-sell them or something?

I found it a little weird they sent me an email reminding me "Use your card before the 7 day warranty runs out!"

  • There are a lot of fraud with them. I have bought starbucks gc from them and merged it to my account. turns out there's fraud and my entire gc is invalidated by starbucks.

  • Yurp seriously. Out of morbid curiosity I went through with it -- one experience so far was a $50 15% off WF gift card that worked out fine. I did notice on my ATT Access More statement the charge listed as "recurring". No idea what that means, they haven't charged me anything else.

      • I can't seem to get that excel Solver trick working to back into the 3x transactions, so I called Citi. Evidently even their own front-line reps can't see 3x vs. 1x at the individual transaction level, but she confirmed that it coded as e-commerce which "should" calc as 3x like most of the transactions I put on this card. I did have some non-bonused transactions for the month, so not 100% sure, but looks good.

  • You can transfer Starbucks gift cards from one to another, so after buying these I would immediately transfer it to your "main" Starbucks gift card. That should protect you from these only being guaranteed for 7 days.

    • "Please note that the terms state that Starbucks gift cards from the Giftme app should not be transferred onto a personal Starbucks account." - from the hustlermoneyblog post on this offer. I dunno why not, as they seem to be in the business of reselling cards.

      • Check with balance before purchase. Never buy any SBGC that can not be divided by $5. Those cards are most likely brand new. I have purchased several hundreds of SBGC from them without problem.
