Google has agreed to settle a lawsuit that alleges that between October 25, 2006 and September 30, 2013 google search queries were included in referrer headers. Google has denied any wrong doing but has agreed to a $23 million settlement.

Who’s Eligible?

The Court decided that the Class includes all users of Google Search who clicked on a search result in the United States from October 26, 2006 through September 30, 2013

Important Dates

  • Exclusion deadline: July 31, 2023
  • Objection deadline: July 31, 2023
  • Claim Form Deadline: July 31, 2023
  • Final Approval Hearing: October 12, 2023

Our Verdict

They are claiming that each person will receive $7.7, for that to happen less than 3 million people need to file claims and that doesn’t include any fees the lawyers take from the settlement pool. I don’t see that happening, but might as well file a claim and hope for the best.

  • Finally used up the 12c MC. What a PITA.

    Tried Spectrum; minimum $1. Tried my toll operator; minimum 49c.

    Then I remembered Spectrum took a 9c payment when I was testing Virtual Visa from giftcards.com. So I paid balance except 12c with another card, then paid the 12c with the MC, and Spectrum took it.

    All the effort I spent for the 12c lol

  • Ally bank says this for my 12c check Your deposit is taking a bit longer because we have information that indicates the check may not be paid.

  • Even worse, when I try to collect my .12, I get an error message saying that they have identified an error on their part and I need to call their 800 number!

  • Lawyers take the major profit, and the victims further waste minutes or hours to redeem $11c.

  • Yay! I see $0.12 each for P1 and P2 deposited to my bank account! It's a wonderful day!

  • Don't forget to check the merchant list on the Prepaid website. You can get 5% back if you use it at certain merchants.  As long as they round up, you'll get a full penny back!
    That's really closer to 10%. Where else can you get that kind of return?
