Hilton has announced that it will be extending free night certificates. Weekend night certificates that were unexpired as of March 11th, 2020 and new ones issued until August 30th, 2020 will have their expiration date extended through August 31st, 2021. These certificates will automatically extended.
That’s really awesome. I’ve been holding off booking nights for a trip with my x2 IHG and x1 Hyatt Card (which in expire in June) due to the whole situation. Maybe I can email them and see if they are willing to extend the nights as well like Hilton is splendidly doing

Very generous as I had two FNC’s each expiring Nov 2020 and January 2021. Meanwhile I’ve had two FNC’s with Hyatt expiring April 2020 that I’ve tried booking and cancelling twice due to the constant travel regulations and Hyatt refuses to extend them! And Hilton extended Diamond through next year as well.

Awesome now I can use this years in combination with next years….planning a Maldives trip to the Conrad.
I just saw the email. Is there a way to check if I still have a remaining certificate without calling in? With AMEX card upgrades and downgrades, sometimes I’ve been issued certs on odd dates. My AMEX or Hilton page showed it at one point, but that’s no longer available.
Hopefully IHG and Marriott will do something similar. I have 2 IHG certs from the credit card that will expire this summer.
