[Expired] How Anybody Can Get The 40,000 Mile Alaska Link

This deal has now expired, but anybody can get 40,00 miles without the free companion pass without having to use this method.

Bank of America and Alaska Airlines are currently offering a sign up bonus of 40,000 miles on the co-branded card. This offer has been showing up on the Alaskaair.com website, but only for people in certain areas. Reader Calvin noted that the direct link is as follows: https://secure.bankofamerica.com/applynow/initialize-workflow.go?requesttype=ICAO&campaignid=4030715&genericvariables=861~40kHP102018. The problem is that link won’t work unless the referer header is Alaskaair.com.

You can change the referrer fairly easily. For example if you use Google Chrome you can download Refer Control. Then just copy and paste the above link, click ‘custom’ and enter ‘Alaskaair.com’. It should look as follows:

Then just load the link and the offer should show. I’d recommend just disabling the plugin after that. You can of course just use a VPN to change your location to the West Coast as well, but this might be easier for some people.

Link has changed, 40k is back, but first year companion pass is $99+$22, instead of the offer for 30k + $100 statement credit and first year companion pass of $22 via dummy booking.

$199 cash savings is a better deal for me, so I’ll use the dummy booking method. For those interested in the 40k link, use this link:

https://secure.bankofamerica.com/applynow/initialize-workflow.go?requesttype=ICAO&campaignid=4034803

Oddly, it looks like a referral from alaskaair.com is no longer needed.

I still see the same 40k points + $99 companion fare with a dummy booking, even when using incognito mode.

How to get 30k + $100 statement credit + $0 intro companion fare offer?

It looks like the 40,000 points deal is working for all without any tricks:https://secure.bankofamerica.com/applynow/welcome.go

I’m in NJ!

is this dead? echoing most of the recent comments: the 40K page only shows up for less than 0.1 sec and it redirects to ” our system may be undergoing maintenance or the offer may have expired”

They are launching a new public offer. You may be getting kicked out because they’re updating the website.  William Charles

i dont know if it is from my end, but i used to get that deal pop up by using the method shown above, but for now somehow the 40K page only shows up for less than 0.1 sec and it redirects to ” our system may be undergoing maintenance or the offer may have expired”

Same for me, refer is set correctly, I tried variations on the trailing parts of the URL, all pop to 40k for a second, and then redirect to a maintenance screen.

Also didn’t work for me. Says deal may be over or tech issue. They either solved for referrer control or deal is dead.

DP: It may die yesterday (2/7) or today (2/8).

I just applied with the method showed here on 2/7 early morning ET and got it pending (system showed application date was 2/6, which might be PT?). It got approval before 2/7 noon without any notice until I manually checked the application status then.

I also got a paper mail delivered today (2/8) from the pre-selection department. It showed a new but worse offer: 40k miles + $121 companion, instead of the 40k + $22 companion, a little better to the standard 30k + $22 companion.

I believe the paper offer is just a coincidence to my application, but may be related to the ending of online 40k+$22 companion offer (aka. I was so lucky~)

How could I upload picture here? I posted the copy of paper offer on USCreditcardGuide. Another DP there (in Chinese) also said he or she received the same paper one.

P.S. the new application url http://www.alaskavisanow.com asks the targeted code. On the next page the name or address can be modified. I have no idea whether it would be acceptable to transfer or share the code.

Revision: 40k + $121-companion looks like also worse than the standard 30k + $22-companion + $100 statement-credit offer.

Any link or code for 30k 22 + statement credit? I agree, I like $200 vs. 10,000 miles

I’m getting:

“This card application is unavailable
The application you’ve requested is currently unavailable; our system may be undergoing maintenance or the offer may have expired. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

Is it dead?
