Please add Newtek Bank to the list.
Newtek Bank formerly: National Bank of New York City (“NBNYC”)
https://www.newtekbank.com/
Interest Rate: 5.12%
APY: 5.25%

External account link limit: 3

PUSH/PULL ACH transfer limit $25K[1]
speed 3 business days
six (6) withdrawals per month, no limit on inbound deposits

Wires are free as long as they are at least $25K minimum.

The Personal High Yield Savings has no fees, no minimum opening deposit requirement, and no minimum balance requirement.

[1] It has been posted that they will increase the transfer limit to $99,999.00 if requested.
“the daily limit, the maximum limit we can offer you is $99,999.00. Please keep in mind that the bank will lower the ACH limit if the activity on the account is not constant. For example, having no transfer activity will prompt the bank to lower the account limit back to $25,000.00. However, you would be able to request an adjustment to the limit again should you ever need to.”

See post titled “Monthly ACH Transfer Limits And Daily Transfer Limits” by jackmol 27 Apr 2023. In reply to jackmol, mrmed confirms that he was able to get the limit increase adjustment as well on 16 May 2023https://www.depositaccounts.com/banks/reviews/newtek-bank.html

As of April 17, 2024, PNC Bank no longer requires minimum balance for their “Virtual Wallet® Checking Pro with Spend, Reserve & Growth”.

The NASB (North American Savings Bank) website ACH limits are $5000/day and a rolling month limit of $20000. I did not see any mention of any $250000 amounts in the bank information shown above.

From the bank FAQ page.

Funding limits vary and are set within the online account application. NASB Online Banking has a transfer limit of $5,000 a day or $20,000 in a rolling month. These funds are sent and received by a three day ACH process. NASB does not place a limit on funds initiated by outside banks

Henry you need to log into your account and look at the external transfers. There you can click on “view limits” and see what your limits are. I just looked at mine and they are still as before. I do see the faq you are referring to but that information has not been updated for a long time, and is obviously outdated.

When I look at my external transfer limits this is what it shows:
Next-Day

  • Remaining today $20,000.00
  • Daily $20,000.00
  • Per Transfer $20,000.00
  • 30-Day Limit $20,000.00

Standard

  • Remaining today $250,000.00
  • Daily $250,000.00
  • Per Transfer $250,000.00
  • 30-Day Limit $250,000.00

Thank you for the updated information. I only have a CD account with them, so I do not see a “view limits” link for it. I guess no one updated the FAQ information since it was posted a long time ago. $250K seems to be the higher ceiling for ACH transfers for most banks, except for a small few that offered no limits.

Did ally pull next day transfers? I moved 100K from ally to another bank 2 weeks ago next day. Today (3/25) I noticed transfers take 3 business days in either direction for all banks.

Also noticed the same yesterday (3/25) when I tried to pull money from an external account which used to take only one day. All my linked accounts show three 3 days now.

William Charles I think this negative change is front page newsworthy as many readers in this blog use ally as a hub mainly for its next day transfer capability

FYI, Don. Please make a note about Ally. Thank you. I hope that you’re doing alright!  Don L

Looks like next-day is working again as of today (3/28). Don’t know if it was a bug or ally reversing course from the negative feedback

Does anyone have a recommendation for an ideal hub account? It seems to me that so many tend to hold money to verify it for too long such as Fidelity CMA.

I use Discover as my main banking account, but they also hold money for several days before making it available, which is annoying and slows me down.

Looking for a new hub as well instead of using my main bank. Started using the churn accounts as a temp hub before closing them out. So many options, should have a poll to see what most folks are using maybe.

Anyone been having Schwab issues lately? I cannot even add any new accounts anymore, without me calling in and them telling me I have to manually fill out a form and send/fax it in.

Same with my P2/P3 accounts.

Looks like I may be looking into finding another hub account.

I was able to add five new external banks to my Schwab account last week. I also entered a six figure transfer request soon after one bank was activated for transfer, but later cancelled it. Note that I am referring to the brokerage and not Schwab bank account.

For Bread Savings: NO 6x per month withdrawal. So it look like you can move lots of money around per month like a hub account should.

There is a 10 day hold on new deposits under 30 days and after 30 days the hold is reduced to 5 days.

Your daily outbound transfer limit is $5,000 per day. You may make up to 4 outbound transfers in a day with the sum of the transfers not exceeding $5,000. [You can also call Customer Service to increase this limit].

Your daily inbound transfer limit is $1,000,000 and you may make up to 2 transfers in a day with the sum of the transfers not to exceed the assigned limit.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I can be of any further assistance. Thank you for choosing Bread Savings.

Sincerely,

Bread Savings Customer Care

Sparky – IMO, Not a good candidate for a Hub account due to the $5K daily outbound limit/4 transfers per day & the 5 day hold on inbound deposits. They’ll let you deposit a lot, but you’d have to use another external account, with high transfer limits, to get your money out.

When I called, Bread Savings said a few times that you could call and increase the (outbound) limit with Customer Service.

Has anyone else with an Amex business checking account been denied adding any accounts? I even removed all 5 and I am not able to add any new ones. I don’t know if I hit an internal limit. Everytime I added a new one I would remove one. Now I can’t add anymore anyways. Strange

Hi G. Don’t panic. That account is known for having some glitches here and there in their early days. Try again in a couple days and see if it would work. In the meantime, what other hubs can you use? G

I’m new to this terminology so I didn’t realize the limits are for transfers initiated by the bank.
