Hyatt Peak/Off Peak Pricing (Book Now, Goes Into Effect On 10/26)

Update 10/20/21: Official date is 10/26 for these changes to go into effect.

Update 10/13/21: Just a reminder to book these now as these changes are due to go into effect on mid October.

Original post: Hyatt has announced that they will be delaying the introduction of peak and off peak pricing until mid October 2021. Originally this was supposed to be introduced March 2020 but has been delayed multiple times due to COVID-19. Starting mid October 2021 the off peak/peak pricing will be reflected on stays from March 2022 onwards.

In addition to this delay Hyatt will be pausing points expiration until December 31, 2021. Previously this was paused through June 30, 2021.

i booked Andaz Maui for 48,000 points for a standard suite, and just realize you guys are talking about the 30,000 point standard rooms. Is my reservation a bad deal? Please be advise because I rarely book hotel rooms using points.

Do a mock booking with cash and get the price. You should be able to get at least 1.5 cents of value per Hyatt point. If the cash price of your room is $720 or more per night, then you’re getting decent value for your points.

Thanks Barry. But those prices are all inflated, do you feel the standard suite is a bad deal?

“Starting mid October 2021 the off peak/peak pricing will be reflected on stays from October 2022 onwards.”

Most other blogs are saying that peak/off-peak will be starting in March 2022, not October 2022.  William Charles

Booked time at the Andaz Maui for next August. Could only get three nights due to their ridiculous points games but it’s better than nothing.

Looking at a Hyatt in St. Louis for a buddy’s wedding over Memorial Day Weekend 2022. Seeing 8k per night. I’m assuming that’s a peak occasion I should probably try to book now?

No downside to booking now. If it ends up lower, you can get a refund of the difference. Either they give it automatically or you cancel and rebook.

Thanks for the reminder. I was sitting on a possible booking at the GH in Poipu but this made me pull the trigger.
