  • When I did the Christmas one, gift cards did NOT seem to count. Most of the cashiers do not seem to be aware of the promotion, so trouble shooting the issue at the register involved getting a manager. I ended up putting the gc back and getting 5 jars of lingonberry sauce to trigger the discount.

And as another commenter noted, prices are up a lot. Cafeteria really sucked

We might go there once a year and I consider the trip a wasted one this year. That coupon doesn't really capture how difficult it might be for the typical person to visit/shop..

    • saw the new promotion, discussed with SO, and decided NOT to visit based on how crummy prior visit was. IKEA needs to up their game for the inperson shopping / cafeteria experience.

  • They need to make this $50. IKEA has really raised their prices lately. Pressboard inflation and supply shortages must be rampant.

  • Do purchases with gift cards count? For example if I buy something for $500, but most of it will be paid with gift cards and maybe a small portion (<$250) in cash.

    • Payment method doesn’t matter—only total purchase price (before tax).

So you could use a gift card for your entire purchase of $250+ and still get the discount. Just make sure you present your IKEA family card (loyalty program).
