JetBlue Mosaic Status Match: Get Status Through 2017 & Challenge Through To 2018

The Offer

Direct link to offer

  • JetBlue is offering to give Mosaic status through the rest of 2017 if you have elite status with another airline. You’ll also be entered into the Mosaic Channel where you can get Mosaic Membership through the end of 2018 if completed (this requires earning 3,750 base flight TrueBlue points in your first 90 days of being matched. You earn 3x points per dollar spent so it requires $1,250 in spend). Below is a list of the eligible statues from other airlines:
    • Virgin America®: Elevate® Silver, Elevate® Gold
    • Alaska Airlines®: Mileage Planâ„¢; MVP® Gold or MVP® Gold 75k
    • American Airlines®: AAdvantage Platinum®, AAdvantage Platinum Pro®, AAdvantage Executive Platinum®
    • Delta®: SkyMiles Medallion® Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond
    • Southwest Airlines®: Rapid Rewards® A-List Preferred or Companion Pass
    • United®: MileagePlus® Premier® Silver, Gold, Platinum or Premier1K®

The Fine Print

  • TrueBlue Mosaic® Status Match & Challenge Terms: You must register for the TrueBlue Mosaic Challenge (“Challenge”) by August 14, 2017 (11:59 PM EST) by registering at https://trueblue.jetblue.com/web/trueblue/2017summermosaic.
  • If you qualify for the Mosaic Status Match, you will not be awarded 15,000 qualifying bonus points

What Does Mosaic Status Get You?

Normally Mosaic Status requires any of the following:

It gives you the following:

  • JetBlue change and cancellation fees will be waived for Mosaic members and others on their itinerary
  • You and others on your itinerary can check both the first and second bag for free – no matter which fare option you chose! (card already gives you first checked bag free)
  • 15,000 bonus points upon qualifying for Mosaic Note you do not get this through this match/challenge
  • Cut down on the time it takes to get to your gate with complimentary access to an expedited security line
  • Early boarding
  • Earn an additional 3 TrueBlue points per dollar on your JetBlue flight, for at least 9 points per dollar if you book on jetblue.com
  • Access to a dedicated Customer Service Line available 24/7
  • Enjoy complimentary alcoholic beverages onboard

Our Verdict

Benefits are actually pretty good with Mosaic status. Worth matching if you’re eligible and have plans/might have plans to fly JetBlue later this year.

I also confirmed that my newly acquired Mosaic status is good until 12/31/2018 by printing my JetBlue Loyalty Card which clearly has “Mosaic Expires on 12/31/2018” printed right on it.

Additionally, whereas the normal customer service line is 1-800-JETBLUE (538-2583). The Mosaic status customer service line is 1-877-JET-TRUE [538-8783].

The status is matched. The challenge is to keep the status and get the 15k points. You will not get the points unless you complete the challenge of spending approximately $1200 with the airline in the next 90 days.

Are you sure you don’t receive the 15,000 points when you complete the challenge. When I received the match I got an email that said:
Congratulations!
You have officially been granted TrueBlue Mosaic® status starting today and for the rest of 2017. To keep it through December 31, 2018 and earn the 15,000 qualifying bonus points, you just have to complete the Mosaic Challenge.*
Then in the fine print in states: Upon completion of the Challenge within the 90-day period following registration for the Challenge and receipt of Mosaic status, accepted participants will receive 15,000 bonus TrueBlue points deposited automatically in their TrueBlue account.

I participated in the CHALLENGE, not the match because I do NOT have status with any other airline. I just completed the CHALLENGE and I am now officially Mosaic AND they gave me 15K points upon completing the CHALLENGE! Happy days! I’m looking forward to using my Mosaic status throughout 2018!

FYI: you can still enroll for the status CHALLENGE (match would be a no-op) even if you’re *currently* Mosaic.

Source: it isn’t excluded in the terms and a CSR verbally confirmed when I asked about it. Hopefully it works and saves me 50k spend next year. Blue Inc also qualifies if you have a business / EIN.

Have people been getting a confirmation email after applying for the match/challenge, or only once it is confirmed?

No, but you can call them to confirm that it’s active on your account. Also, if you try to enroll again, it will tell you you are already registered

Observation tip: It seems like you could photoshop a certain status on another airline to qualify, since it seems they’re just asking for screenshots. As long as it looks legit, I don’t see how they would know. Any reason that wouldn’t work?

That would be fraud.

Not disputing that, but how is that any different from going for a targeted link or using the tricks for Amex higher bonuses?

If people think it’s fraud, then I retract. I just figured it was another trick of the trade

AA gold is so less-valuable?

Why American gold is not included but DL//US silver is??? those are the same level, a typo?

They are very clearly and specifically targeting AA Gold as the sole exclusion, since every tier with every other significant US airline is included. I guess as the world’s biggest airline there are probably more AA Gold members than any other status among JetBlue’s customer base, so if they’re assuming some “conversion” rate with this promo then excluding AA Gold is the simplest way to keep costs down. Yes, I’m bitter since that’s my only status.

Edit: Alaska MVP and Southwest A-List are also excluded. So I guess that blows up my theory.

it doesnt blow up ur theory. you are correct. nobody is excluded except AA gold. they are being overly generous. not sure whats going on.

many companies made the mistake of matching everyone. and when everyone is diamond, nobody is diamond. i am not going to fly jetblue until 2019 after seeing this. SMH. what a sad day. maintaining status will be worthless. everyone will have the same exact status. will go back to southwest now.

meant to say nobody is excluded except for those three statuses.

It’s nice that Southwest Companion Pass qualifies for this offer. Are there any other airlines that also accept that for a status match?
