Does the stay have to start on 16th of February or can it also end on 16th? I.e. will long weekend stays for Presidents day that start on the 13th count?

Nothing for me yet. I'll give it a few days. Also, the link tells me I'm not eligible for the double elite nights promo. So it really may be targeted. :-(
If you registered for a similar promo last time they offered it, then you'd probably be ineligible this time.

I am now platinum with 55 nights. Worth it to try for Titanium if I didn’t have travel planned already?
That’s 10 nights if I take them within the promo period.
Many people feel the main benefit of Titanium over Platinum is the United Silver status you can get while you're Marriott Titanium. United Silver gives you free access to E+ seating at check-in time. But of course, if you never fly United or already have United status, that's not going to of much value to you.
Depends on how much you plan to travel with that status and where to. For occasional travel in US/Europe - probably not so much.

you need to specify that this is only for paid stays. Reward nights don't count toward double elite night. (per one mile at a time)
In the past, IT glitches helped but they seem to have been fixed now.

My email from Marriott said that this benefit is for stays of two nights or more only.
Also, they will be crediting 50% bonus elite nights this year too.
In addition, properties are on off-peak pricing till Feb 21.
