Our Verdict

I personally prefer bus travel to air travel if the bus travel time is going to be 3-4 hours or less, especially when I need/want to go city center to city center. Worth checking your travel dates if you have some short trips coming up (or don’t mind longer bus trips).

This promo isn’t new. I think it’s a Black Friday deal.

I have tickets for February for a trip to on cold Midwestern city to a different one. If the weather is good I will go, if not I’m out $2.50.

No thank you. The only time I tried it, the bus didn’t show up, and totally screwed up my travel plans. Oh, no refund either – I was told to keep waiting – “bus will get there”, even though it was over 3 hours late!

It’s fucked up that you think that.

I don’t get it. You don’t think they might have family to visit at the holidays?

Seats are pretty easy to find, I found loads on my first try. When you put in your trip details, it gives you a list of trips that day and the prices. Then above that, it shows the lowest price for every day that week. If the price shows a magnifying glass instead of a price, there is a free trip that day. Not totally free though, you still have to pay the booking fee.

FYI: base fare is free, but booking fee is still $2.50.
