Microsoft Office Now Available in Apple App Store, Pay with iTunes Gift Cards for Discount

Microsoft Office is now available in the Apple App Store, as reported by Engadget.

Reader Chris points out that this means you can use iTunes gift cards to pay for Microsoft Office. As readers know, iTunes gift cards are regularly available at discounts, and this is an easy way to save on your Office purchase or subscription.

This is a bit of welcome news. As was widely reported, Netflix recently stopped allowing payment through the App Store which negatively affected a lot of people.

    • Is just like free trial if you go the link you put out? I went it to and it seems like it’s works if you do have a edu email. I was just wondering if it’s a free trial and you have to pay for it after the trial is over.

  • There are usually good discounts on Office 365 around Black Friday, I usually pay less than $80 for a year, more recently Costco had a $75 for Office 365 home for 15 months. Amazon.com has discounted it in years past too. Just as an alternative so that people don't necessary lock themselves into itunes credit.

    • Good alternatives. For me, I have about $60 in iTunes credit left after I cancelled Netflix last year (girlfriend had an account so I cancelled mine). I’ve been trying to find something useful to use up those credits.

I haven’t decided if I’m doing this yet or not since I dont use Office a ton. I would just be more of a convenience thing. Open to suggestions on good value for iTunes credit if anybody knows any.

  • I use office 2007 at home and office 2016 at work, can't find anything the newer version will do that the old one won't.

    • To add to that, some resellers sell the office 365 that comes free with some laptops for super cheap.
