What is the current promo code for branch opening. Bank rep said I need code prior to going in. Online version auto populates but doesn’t show code. I have churned this online multiple times but now have to go into branch.

Got the visit branch message online 2 weeks back for both P1 and P2 Sole SSN and EIN. Drove 3.5 hrs to branch and got it opened yday. Worth the trip for 3K for 2nd time churn.

Are you OOS or just in state but no branch in your area?

The language seems to indicate that they can limit welcome offers: “Huntington reserves the right to limit an individual to one account-related gift incentive per rolling 12-month period across all deposit account relationships”. I assume you didn’t have this issue?

“Huntington reserves the right to limit an individual business owner with multiple businesses to one account-related gift incentive per rolling 12-month period across all deposit account relationships.”

This offer is only available to new business checking customers. All existing Huntington business checking customers, including those with any relationship (including fiduciary) to any other Huntington business checking account, or those who closed a business checking account within the last six months, are not eligible”

Do we have to wait 6 months or 12 months between accounts?

Well you would need to keep the account open for 6 months to avoid the early termination fee, then you would need to wait another 6 months to be eligible (based on the 2nd statement above), so then you’re past the 12-month period and are eligible for a bonus again (based on the 1st statement).

TL;DR – 12 months if following the rules

But, feel free to cut it short if you want to test things. I doubt they can charge the ETF if an account is at $0, and it takes at least 90 days from account opening for the bonus to pay out. So theoretically you could close your account immediately after receiving the bonus, wait 6 months, open a new account, and then receive the next bonus just after you cross the 12-month threshold.

TL;DR – 6 months if abusing the rules, but YMMV

Have people avoided fees on the Unlimited Plus Business Checking during the first few months (before downgrading the account) WITHOUT having personal checking accounts or 50K balances in the business account? (I have an IRA but it’s personal, and I’m thinking it won’t count toward the necessary Relationship Balance needed to avoid fees.) Thoughts?

I tried opening a Sole prop with my social security number and got the “We would be happy to help you in branch” message. I don’t have a legit business so kudos to those that got it open without having one.

Same man, I’ve tried with my SSN and EIN but can’t get past that screen no matter what.

DP from Pennsylvania:

2023/11/06: “Unlimited Plus” business checking account opened (online, as sole prop, with EIN).
2023/11/20: Transfer from Ally to Huntington posts ($20100). Coded as P2P.
2024/01/23: “Promotional Incentive – Thank You” posts ($1000).

To date, I have not been charged with any monthly fees. Like others, I plan to downgrade this account to the Business Checking 100 option and ride that out until I can close after 180 days (which should be sometime in May).

Great start to the week. This was my first-ever business account bonus. Thanks as always, Doc.

“These accounts needs to be kept open for a minimum of six months, otherwise you will forfeit the bonus.”
Quoted from the description above.

Can anyone point me into the right direction as to where it actually lists this?

On the bonus offer page I see where it’s vaguely says there is a early closing fee. I don’t see any closing fee listed on the fee disclosure statement. Am I missing it somewhere on a different terms page?

I got approved for a biz account online as sole prop, got the account number and everything. but due to technical difficulties, the promo code could not be saved – Must reach out to the nearest branch?

Anyone experience this before?
