Update: If you’re still seeing a fee when paying, just ignore it. As per this exchange on Twitter:

The Offer

  • RadPad has teamed up with Stripe to allow you to pay your rent using a credit card for free when you also use Android Pay.

The Fine Print

  • Promotion will run through end of 2016

Android Pay Requirements

Not all Android phones will be able to run Android pay, there are a few requirements you should be aware of:

  • Must be running Android 4.4 or higher
  • Must have a NFC compatible phone

Our Verdict

This is a pretty awesome promotion, normally you pay 3.49% for using a credit card with RadPad. The way that Pay With RadPad works is that they send out a physical check to your landlord, so it’ll work with any landlord unlike other rent payment services that require your landlord to opt in. All of these transactions do earn credit card rewards points and do not code as a cash advance either. This is an easy way to increase your credit card spend without fees.

I had the same issue. Loaded my AMEX SPG card to Android Pay, scheduled rent payment through RadPad app, then got this email from them a few days later:

“We’re currently experiencing issues processing AMEX credit cards through Android Pay, resulting in rent payments being declined.”

Bummer! I hope they fix this

augh, just got that email. My SPG business went through at $5k rent (paying for all my roommates to maximize) yesterday without any issues. I emailed them asking if they could allow me to continue to use my SPG since I want to do 1 more month to get the 10k bonus points.

Could be a nice promo, but not worth the hassle: I tried to actually pay my rent, but they didn’t process it. When I asked why they first said my card was declined multiple times (which is untrue), then they suddenly said they couldn’t verify my landlord — which they had verified before and is quite a big shot. Then they stopped responding.

So i bought a brand new at&t LG gophone $69.99 (on sale) for this promo as it’ll make me ~10K plus TY points for 5 months. But now I’ve completed the task… are there any more android pay promos out there outside of the uber/1800 flowers deals? Sadly I was not targeted for the Discover promo.

I have used Radpad before, so familar. I have tried the Radpad app on 3 different Samsung phones, S7, S5 and I think the other S5 too, all say same error of “Unfortuately, Radpad has stopped” and shutting down when I click on “Pay Rent.” There is only one RadPad:Apartment Finder App on the Google Playstore and I uninstalled and re-installed it.

Android Pay is loaded with valid credit card, ATT Access.

Noone seems to be having same problem on this forum. Any clues what wrong?

You are completely right. Emailed Radpad message and they responded. Sent screen shot. Next day get email saying was fixed and it was. 2 minutes to cue it up for Android Pay.

Hi Doug,

Thanks so much for writing in. We were really honored that you wish to use Pay with RadPad to pay your office rent payment. Unfortunately, at this time we are only able to process residential rent payments.

We have also just updated our FAQ to address this situation, which you can view here: https://www.onradpad.com/paymyrent/faq

Again, we are flattered that you would like to run your commercial lease payment through us, but at this time we are unable to honor your request.

Thank your for considering us and we wish you the best!

Best,
Lindsey
