Our Verdict
Unlike the targeted offer, this doesn’t say you must apply by May 3rd. As Sirtheta points out it’s also not marked as a special offer (at least not yet) so it’s possible this could be the new standard bonus with Chase. Onto discussing the deal itself…
This card does fall under the Chase 5/24 rule (interestingly the business version does not). So most people won’t be eligible. If you are eligible you have to ask if this is worth applying for, or if you’d be better off with other Chase cards (this will depend on your travel goals, what cards you’ve already gotten and how far away from going over 5/24 you are).
Previous best bonus on this card was (thanks to our speadsheet) 80,000 points for $3,000 spend with the AF & authorized user the same (there is also a 150,000 point bonus but this requires $30,000 in spend). This is an extra 20,000 points for $2,00 spend (10x per $1 spent) so I think the 100,000 offer is better.
Keep in mind these points also transfer to SPG at a rate of 3:1, so this bonus would be worth 30,000+ SPG points. There is also a sign up bonus of 35,000 SPG points on the American Express personal & business SPG cards. You can see what we think is the best use of SPG/Marriott points by clicking here, we also compare SPG Nights & Flights Vs Marriott Flight & Hotel Packages.
If you’ve applied for the card within the last 90 days, make sure you ask Chase to match you to this higher offer. We will have more details on this shortly. As always, before applying for any Chase cards make sure you read through the list of things you should know.
Chase responded to me via SM that this offer does indeed end 5/3
Any idea when this deal ends?
Why did post get removed where I had asked for business cards application counting for 5/24 Chase rule?
It didn’t, your comment was in moderation most likely.
I am at 4/24. Before I apply for this card (or any chase personal card ) which will make
Me at 5/24………..
A) Should I apply for 1 or 2 chase Business cards? Will that still keep me at 4/24 when I apply for this chase personal card? If yes can I apply for chase southwest business card and Chase Ink business cards? Will that still keep me at 4/24
And I’ll be able to apply for this
Marriott card later?
B) In that sense, can I also apply for Other non chase business cards too? Amex
SPG Business and Citi Business AA cards? And be still at 4/24?
Please advise ASAP
A). Yes, chase business cards do not count. That would keep you at 4/24
B). Depends on the issuer, if they report business cards or not. More info here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/which-business-credit-cards-report/
Thanks a lot. so if they do not, then i’ll stay at 4/24 right? Ex SPG Amex business and Citi AA Business?
Yes, if they don’t report to your personal report youll stay at 4/24
Will/Chuck,
Don’t know if you guys have seen the now two DP’s on reddit of Marriott 100k approval > 5/24
https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/6189ur/daily_discussion_thread_march_24_2017/dfdm76z/
and a 2nd one in that comment chain.
For anyone reading here, those might have just been trolls/fake. Follow suit at your own risk.
Yea definitely trolls
Hmmm.
SPG, Ritz, Marriott gonna be under one award program soon
Marriott offering up 100,000 point card
I smell a Marriott devaluation
Anyone know of a 100k Marriott business card offer?
This would have been great if you could still do the Marriott travel/air package to get the SW Companion Pass. Interesting timing that this bonus comes out when it’s too late to use this method. I wonder if the marketing people thought there would be a drop in applications after the 3/31 SW deadline and this was their way to boost it back up.
Doesn’t it also get bonus points at SPG properties? I know the Ritz does…
Yes it does
