RadPad allows you to pay your rent using a debit card or credit card. Previously there was no fee for using a debit card, but going forward you’ll be charged a $4.95 fee. They are also adding a new ACH option that will be free. Keep in mind there is no charge for using Android Pay and a credit card until the end of the year. As part of this change it also looks like credit card fees have been reduced to 2.99% instead of the previous 3.49%.

I wanted to let you know that beginning today, we’re going to start charging a flat $4.95 per month to use a debit card to pay rent.
While we hate having to charge even a small fee to pay your rent with a debit card, this change is being made because of the higher costs to process debit card payments.
Every time that we charge your debit card, we pay a small fee back to our processor. We’ve been eating those fees so you didn’t have to pay them, but as more and more people have signed up to pay rent on their debit card, those fees have climbed to tens of thousands of dollars every month.
Charging a flat fee of $4.95 per month will enable us to continue investing in our product while also providing you incredible customer service anytime you need us.
If you don’t want to pay the $4.95 debit fee, we’re now offering ACH as a free option. ACH allows you to connect your bank account to RadPad and pay your landlord directly from your checking or savings account. You don’t even need to know your routing or account number to set up ACH payments.

Not surprised by this, it’s usually volume that kills deals like this and I know people have been running significant volume through RadPad. Paying by debit card will still make sense for a lot of people, but I suspect most will be using Android Pay until at least the end of the year if possible.
