Radpad No Longer Processes Payments to Unverified Landlords

I didn’t even realize some people still use Radpad since CSR/Radpad died, but if you do…

Radpad sent out an email today indicating that they’ll only process rent payments for landlords in their system. No more sending out checks to a random person who you claim is your landlord. They do encourage you to have the landlord be verified and registered, but it means you have to explain it all to your landlord and have them go through the verifications.

Good afternoon, and thank you for being a valued RadPad user.

Due to changes in banking regulations, we will unfortunately no longer be able to send rent payments to landlords who have not completed certain additional verification requirements.

What does this mean for you?

Because your landlord has not completed our additional verification steps, we will be unable to send your rent to them. This is effective immediately and means that your upcoming rent payment WILL NOT be charged to your card or sent to the landlord.

We apologize for this inconvenience, but in keeping with all of our practices we want to ensure the compliance of our rent payment program and the safety of your funds in transit.

We do have ways to verify your landlord and ensure compliance with our system and if you would like to continue paying with RadPad, please do no hesitate to have your landlord contact us.

Please note that you will receive an additional automated email when your rent payment is suspended. You can disregard that email.

Thanks, and our apologies again for any inconvenience this might cause.

The RadPad Team

This will probably end Radpad for the few miles-and-points users who still use them.

Hat tip to r/churning and @telewatcr

Strange. I got this email on August 18th too, but my payment card automatically got charged yesterday. I got a notification from RadPad that apparently the check was sent today. I didn’t do anything to verify my landlord.

Yeah this killed RadPad for me, I was going to use it for the first time to get 3x on Altitude Reserve, then this email showed up. Been using it for months just fine. It helped me get a number of signup bonuses on different cards. Trying to get my landlord verified sound like too much of a hassle. I’m going to wait until ios11 rolls out with Apple Pay peer-peer payments and see if that will work for 3x on Altitude Reserve instead. RadPad has the worst reviews on the planet. I’m actually glad I’m cutting ties with this company whose customer service is practically non existent.

Still working fine for those of us with verified landlords.

Was your landlord already verified or did you ask them to verify with RadPad? I am working towards USBank and their 3x Apple Pay card.

Apparently already verified, as I did not receive this email notice, and RadPad processed my monthly rent charge yesterday.

They need to cite the source of their claimed new banking regulation that prohibits this. New RadPad just makes up excuses for everything.

They might be referring to the ‘know your customer’ statutes. As of now, they’re sending out checks to unverified customers… tricky business.

After their liquidity issues I’m stunned anybody is still using them at all

There is still at least one triple-good reason to use RadPad over Plastiq if you also have an iPhone or Android and a certain Reserve card. However, use at your own risk.

Still hoping to get in on this by the winter. USBank has had no issue approving me in the past. Any clue how the process for verification is on the landlord’s end?
