  • "All the other card benefits will remain in place" LOL, as if it had any other benefits left, this card doesn't even offer extended warranty on purchases

    • It still has better benefits than literally any other credit card. And it does have extended warranty. Don't know where you're getting your info.

  • Sockdrawer

Rakuten is too complicated and time consuming to use

    DO NOT WASTE MY TIME

    DONT MESS WITH ME

I WARNED YOU NOW GET OUT OF HERE

    • I’m surprised commenters are so willing to share when we all worry about the remaining options being overused, abused, and discontinued.

      • For me the benefit means special people get gifts on the right dates or right there, not 'when it goes on sale' or 'when we get back home I'll order it off amazon, it's too expensive here in [tourist landmark]' --

Those can become very special memories. Everyone should be able to do that if they want.

Plus, you might find something better. I'm signing up for BBVA Visa rewards next. Chasing this benefit has killed my 4/24 aspirations, but makes my family a lot happier than dining points and travel credits.

        • update: In the real world BBVA rewards doesn't have price protection, even though the banks documentation says it does.

    • UBS Visa Infinite still has it.

The Chase United Club used to but I think Chase cut it when they refreshed it to a Visa Infinite.

      • I believe my old, Visa Signature United Club still has it. Haven't tried to use the benefit in over a year though, so maybe not.

  • I don't have this card per se, but I do use Rakuten. Therefore, I am partially outraged.

  • Next month they'll be taking away the grace period and adding a domestic transaction fee equal to the cashback you receive.
